Alyssa Milano's right shoulder tattoo is visible through her red shirt when she closes the front door after Clay leaves.
When Clay jumps in front of the snake to save Phoebe and it disappears, Phoebe says, "A selfless act, just like the Book of Shadows said." This is not true, Prue said that a selfless act might balance the scale, not the Book of Shadows.
When Clay & the others steal the urn they mention that the person they are stealing it from died mysteriously but if the Guardian of the Urn teleports it back to the rightful owner after killing the thief shouldn't they be stealing it from the owner not someone who died from the curse?
TRIVIA: Featured music in this episode -
-Inside Out by Eve 6
-Good Enough by Sarah McLachlan -Hey Pachuco! by Royal Crown Revue
TRIVIA: The Guardian of the Urn is neither good nor evil. She simply exists to protect the urn from thieves. When someone steals the urn, she takes physical shape from her previous art depiction on the urn and similarly causes other art depictions of various poisonous animals such as spiders, snakes and scorpions to come to life off the urn in order to kill the thief as punishment. She is high resistant to outside magic and teleports the urn back to its original owner once the thief is killed.
TRIVIA: Phoebe's boyfriend Clay's name begins with a "C" and in season 3 we learn that her true love's name begins with a "C" which at the time she thinks is Cole, but later turns out to be Coop.
The sisters refer to Greed and the Seven Deadly Sins in this episode. They mention the only way to overcome it is a selfless act, which is how that got rid of their infection of Sin in the season 3 episode "Sin Francisco".
How did Clay know that Prue worked at an auction house? Phoebe said she hadn't talked to him since she left New York, and when Phoebe arrived in San Francisco, Prue was still working at the museum.
TRIVIA: Cristine Rose (Claire Pryce) and Holly worked together on Picket Fences - they played mother and daughter. Cristine has also worked with Shannen when they both guest stared in the same episode of Life Goes On together.
Clay tells Phoebe that he came to see her because he needed Prue's help to appraise and sell the urn, because he needed to make some quick cash. Wouldn't Phoebe find it suspicious that he paid for a trip to San Fransisco to avoid appraisal costs? Getting an urn appraised in New York would be a lot cheaper than flying to San Francisco.
Piper: New York Clay? That Clay?
Phoebe: That's the one.
Piper: You said you never wanted to see him again.
Phoebe: Ancient history.
Piper: Six months?
Phoebe: Five. (They reach the bottom of the stairs and Prue's standing there.) He's just stopping by on his way home. It's not a big deal. He was travelling or something.
Prue: Who's Clay?
Phoebe: Nobody.
Piper: Her ex-boyfriend, the musician. She met him when she was working at the Rainbow Room. You remember?
Prue: No, I don't. Nobody told me. They hired you at the Rainbow Room?
Piper: Yeah, she was the hostess until she started working at the Chelsea Pier.
Phoebe: Okay, can we talk about this later please? (The doorbell rings.) A lot later. We're just friends, that's all. Do I have lipstick on my teeth?
(She smiles.)
Piper: Yes.
(Phoebe rubs her teeth with her finger and heads towards the door.)
Prue: That was mean.
Piper: That was not mean.
Prue: Okay.
(Phoebe opens the door.)
Clay: Phoebe.
Phoebe: Hey.
Clay: It's really good to see you. (They hug and Phoebe has a premonition of her and Clay in bed together. The premonition ends and Phoebe smiles. They stop hugging.) You okay?
Phoebe: Uh huh. Ooh.
Wesley: Told you. Piece of cake.
Clay: Let's just do this and get out of here.
Wesley: Relax, Clay. I told you no one's home, the owner is dead.
Palmer: Stay here and keep watch. We'll get the urn. (Wesley and Palmer walk into another room while Clay stands at the doorway.) Clay doesn't know, does he?
Wesley: Why spook him? He probably believes it was the curse that killed the old man.
Palmer: He was stung to death by a scorpion, Wesley. In a bathroom of an aeroplane.
Wesley: Don't tell me you believe in that crap.
Palmer: You think I'd be here if I did? (He sees the urn.) Is that it?
Wesley: That's it. (They walk over to it and Wesley picks it up.) You see any scorpions around?
Palmer: No, just dollar signs. Let's go.
(A picture on the side of the urn glows and disappears. Clay comes up to them.)
Clay: Hey, man, there's a car coming. You guys must've tripped an alarm.
Wesley: Let's get outta here.
(Two guards come in. Clay, Wesley and Palmer hide behind some plants.)
Clay: Should've never let you guys talk me into this.
Wesley: Shut up. We'll split up and meet in San Francisco. Give the urn to your friend and hock it right away.
Palmer: Don't you think about ripping us off 'cause I'll find you.
(Clay leaves. Wesley starts walking away but stops when he sees magic dust floating in the air in front of him. The dust turns into a woman - the protector of the urn.)
Wesley: Whoa. What are you?
Guardian: I'm the guardian of the urn.
Wesley: The what? (She touches her ring and then Wesley's chest.) Hey, what are you doing?
A spider appears and he starts yelling in pain and falls to the floor.)
Guardian: You are being punished for your greed. As for your friends...
Prue: The Guardian punishes the greedy, so maybe if Clay does something selfless, it'll even the score.
Piper: Good luck...
Prue: Seasons change, people don't...
Phoebe: I changed. DO you remember what you thought of me before I walked back through that door?
Prue: That's different...
Phoebe: How is that different?
Prue: You're my sister...
Piper: I'm getting a little freeze frazzled.
Coroner: I found someone's business card in his pocket. Buckland's Auction House...
Andy (cutting him off): Ah. Let me guess, Prue Halliwell?
Coroner: Yeah. How did you know?
Andy: I'm cursed.
Doug: Who cares about Shelly when I've got Thursday, Friday, Saturday all lined up and waiting?
Clay: You're not gonna hurt anybody else?
Guardian: Not until somebody steals the urn again.
Clay: How do you know anybody will?
Guardian: Somebody always does.
Phoebe: Don't take this the wrong way, but why are you here, with me, now?
Clay: What, can't a guy visit?
Phoebe: Yeah, but you're not just a guy, you're Clay, and Clay comes with strings attached.
International Episode Titles:
Czech Republic: Na hlíněných nohou (On Earthen Legs)
France: La malédiction de l'urne (The curse of the urn)
This episode scored 5.7 million viewers.
Phoebe: It's just like The Cowardly Lion from "The Wizard of Oz".
"The Wizard of Oz" is a movie from 1939, which featured Judy Garland as Dorothy.
Clay: Maybe you can show me around. Help me see where I left my heart.
A reference to the famous 1962 Tony Bennett hit I Left My Heart in San Francisco.
Phoebe: I thought your charm was to boost his confidence, not turn him into Tom Cruise.
Making a comparison to the 1988 movie "Cocktail" that starred Tom Cruise as a bartender.
Prue: They hired you at the Rainbow Room?
The Rainbow Room is a very famous restaurant in New York that serves a more elite clientelle.
Title: Feats Of Clay
"Feet of clay" is a phrase that refers to a person's weakness. It's origin is found in the bible: "...his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." (Daniel 2:31-32)
