  • Meeeh one.

SO I actually didn't like Victor's part here. Chris was guilted into telling him and then Victor just goes and tells Piper, which he shouldn't have done.

And Victor really fathering Chris was actually semi annoying. Chris wants to protect Piper because he's inside her! He kind of wants to live and he is a witch too, he can help and do things. But I like when everyone stops mothering each other.

Phoebe's magic was too over the top for me here. Her just glamouring people with the wave of her hand. Turning someone into a dog by calling them a bitch.

I know he was a murderer and criminal but I'm still not convinced that was the 'only' solution and that they 'had' to murder him too. They gave him NO chance of escape or anything. I mean orb him back to prison or something. Paige you have powers, orb the gun away from him, Phoebe you know martial arts - use it and knock him out and then call the cops. Say you went to school with him and was part of his gang so that must be why he came for you. Just stupid. I feel it was more on the 'punishing the guilty' side. Killing someone to protect the innocent is defensive, but killing him was cold blood I feel.moreless
  • Hyde School Reunion

Hyde School Reunion was a superb and entertaining episode of Charmed. I really enjoyed watching because there was a lot of character development for Phoebe and Chris as well. It was great to see the sister's father again as Piper asked him to visit and talk with Chris. I liked learning more about Chris and his frame of thought. It was fun to see Phoebe relive her past so to speak, and it was a wildly fun ride! I look forward to watching the next episode!!!!!!!!!moreless
  • Freebe The Teenage Witch

Hyde School Reunion-Phoebe accidentally casts a spell on herself that allows her wild teenage personality to take over, and teen Phoebe is eager to use her magic to her advantage. Meanwhile, Piper asks her father to find out why Chris is avoiding her.

Once again, the writers take a pretty awesome plot and write it into the ground! Piper's high school reunion was awesome, I mean she got possessed with Prue having to sacrifice her to save her. Pretty intense stuff. Phoebe's high school reunion? Well, it actually started out pretty interesting. The writers actually remember that Phoebe was littlejuvenile delinquent back in the day. They even remembered her infamous nickname: Freebe! We even got to meet her old high school gang. Sure they're mostly one note characters, but at least they helped us to better understand how out of control Phoebe was in her teenage years. It actually made me miss the old Phoebe from the early years when she was the free-spirited, trouble making little sister. Phoebe of the later years is either a work a holic, obsessed with getting laid, having a baby and is pretty the complete opposite of who she use to be. The silly costumes and the constant possessions don't help. Phoebe becomg a teenage is just another sitcom, over thop silliness that is just made Charmed unbearable to watch during the second half of the series. Once Rick becomes the villain of the week, it doesn't help. Phoebe's line "I fight demons every week, I'm not afraid of you" is exactly why this plot is so boring. Rick is about as threating as a stor robber.....he's in fact a store robber and the fact that the second half of the episode is spent on how to stop him is ridiculous. Not to mention, the way the episode is resolved is like a big middle finger to the show's mythology and the fans's intelligence! You're telling me Paige and Phoebe let a human get killed by demons to get rid of him and there are NO consequences for that! Excuse me: f#$% you writers! What happened to "protect the innocent, not punish the guilty"!!? The scene was the worst of the series, showing how stupid and selfish the sisters have become. How sad how bad the series have become when it completely sh!ts on lessons that we previously established! I guess "Morality Bites" never happened! *HEADDESK, FALLS INTO A COMA!!*

The only good thing in the episode was surprisingly Chris and his bonding with Chris. There were some great, genuine scenes between them. Drew Fuller even manages to give a decent performance for once! I believed finally that Chris was Piper's son for the first time, which I never thought I would. But that wasn't enough to save this bore-fest/insulting pile of crap. Also, "Hyde School Reunion"? I heard better puns made on Seseame Street!moreless
  • Freaky Phoebe and the demons of projectile vomit...

This is the worst of Season 6, and that is saying something considering James Reed is in it, who typically elevates every episode he is in.

Victor is involved in the best comedy of the show as he attempts to talk to Piper's belly when she asks him to have a talk with Chris. It is cool seeing Victor and Chris together, and Victor even gets his one and only orb of the series. Chris's melancholy over Piper being dead in his future, as already noted in "Chris-Crossed," is pretty understandable. And Piper's reaction to Chris calling him "mom" for the first time is an all-time great Charmed moment, easily the best moment of the show.

The main plot is actually another example of the writers trying to capitalize on a normal event in the life of someone Phoebe's age. As such, the high school reunion is a sensible idea. The problem is that the conflict they worked out of it is more annoying than dramatic. Apparently all 4 sisters (including Prue) had long straight black hair in high school and were somewhat uncomfortable in their own skin. It is an old story by now.

It was very intelligent of the writers to have Rick proudly tell Phoebe that he had killed before. Once he said that, he was no longer an innocent, which opened the door for the sisters' rare vanquishing of a mortal. I liked that. Nice twist.

Unfortunately, most the rest is forgettable. The main problem is that Freaky Phoebe displays way more power than normal Phoebe ever did, and yet she allows Rick to bully her with a shotgun. Why not just turn HIM into a dog? This sucks any drama otherwise possible out of the whole Rick conflict.moreless
  • Lousy episode, out of point!

I dislike watching Phoebe at her high school reunion! But I really loves to watch Chris! It is really cool of Piper's dad came to help and talk to his future grandson! It helped lot, for your information! Chris finally told his grandpa a very short truth about future. Grandpa finally understood why! Grandpa feels really happy and he is very glad that he is awesome grandpa! We found out that after that special event, Chris and his grandpa became very close, they just talked! I love this role between both of them! Great episode on Chris!! I love it!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (32)

    • This is the only time in Charmed that Victor, famously untrusting of whitelighters, allows someone (Chris) to orb him.

    • TRIVIA: This is the second time one of the sisters goes to their high school reunion, Piper previously went to hers in the season 3 episode Coyote Piper.

    • TRIVIA: This marks the first time that Victor meets any of his grandchildren as adults. He would later meet the adult Wyatt in the series finale Forever Charmed.

    • Why couldn't Chris get close to Piper all of a sudden? He had no problem before she got pregnant.

    • When Piper and Paige are talking at the beginning and they hear Phoebe scream, they rush out to find out what's going on and then Phoebe tells them that her dress is ruined. However, in the season 4 episode Marry-Go-Round, this same scenario occurs after Cole, unbeknownst to Phoebe, magically makes her wedding dress very loose, which Paige took the fall for. But this time it was the dry-cleaner.

    • Doesn't it seem odd if Todd and Ramona were Phoebe's closest friends in high school, that she wouldn't offer an explanation as to how Paige was her sister? If they were all really that close (not to mention Todd and Phoebe had dated) wouldn't they know that Phoebe had two older sisters and at least knew that neither of their names were Paige?

    • TRIVIA: Chris tells his grandfather that he was 14 years old when Piper, his mother, died in the future. Chris's future self is mentioned to be 22 years old at this time.

    • TRIVIA: At the high school reunion, once Freaky Phoebe casts a spell on everyone reverting things to her senior year, the song Sex Type Thing by Stone Temple Pilots starts to play. This means Phoebe graduated in 1992 at the earliest the release year of the single. Assuming she was 17 or 18 at the time of her graduation, this would place her birth year at 1974 or 1975.

    • TRIVIA: This is the first episode that Brian Krause (Leo) does not appear in since the episode How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans.

    • TRIVIA: As of this episode, Holly Marie Combs pregnancy is no longer hidden from the camera view or hidden by her wearing a large shirt. This is because her character, Piper is now pregnant, and they used Holly's pregnancy to fill in for Piper's pregnancy.

    • Rick used the saying, "In for a penny, in for a pound." This saying is a reference to old British currency. There were 100 pennies in a British pound. It means that someone is fully committed to a task, not partially.

    • How would Todd know Phoebe's cell phone number? The episode implied that this is the first time they spoke since high school.

    • TRIVIA: Six months have passed since the previous episode "The Courtship of Wyatt's Father", which is mentioned in the next episode "Spin City". This explains why Piper suddenly looks very pregnant, as opposed to the previous episode when she just got pregnant.

    • How did Phoebe and her friends steal the police car? What kind of policeman leaves his keys in the ignition when he's not in the car?

    • TRIVIA: In this episode Phoebe is shown as a teen with short bangs. All of the Halliwell sisters have been shown with bangs as teenagers. Prue was shown in the season 2 episode Be Careful What You Witch For, Piper in the season 3 episode Coyote Piper, and Paige in the season 4 episode A Paige from the Past.

    • TRIVIA: It's stated that in Chris' original time period, Piper died when he was a teenager, and after her death, his grandfather, Victor raised Chris.

    • TRIVIA: Paula refers to Phoebe as "Freebie", a nickname we learned Phoebe had in high school in the season one episode Love Hurts when Prue called her that in an attempt to make her mad enough to use Prue's power during the swap.

    • TRIVIA: At the end of the episode, Chris calls Piper, "Mom" for the first time.

    • Why doesn't Paige just orb the rifle out of Rick's hands, as she's done to bad guys many times in the past? Instead she just goes along with him and casts the appearance changing spell to make him look like Chris.

    • After teen Phoebe turns Paula into a dog, she acts all shocked and surprised. Then she tells Todd "I think I'm a witch" now if she couldn't remember being a witch, how did she remember that Paige was her long lost sister? Teen Phoebe never even knew of Paige's existance.

    • When Phoebe asks Rick "How do we know you're not lying?", couldn't she just use her empath power and sense if he's lying?

    • In the scenes where the camera is outside of the car as Phoebe is driving, her stunt double's face is visible.

    • Also, couldn't the legendary Charmed Ones just summon Ramona? It would have saved them much more trouble.

    • When the sisters called Phoebe she asked them to send her back - Why? Wouldn't asking Paige (and possibly Piper) orb with her back be much better? That's what they did in previous episodes...

    • If Phoebe was so worried about getting the truth out of Rick, why not use the truth spell?

    • Why did the Demons only come after Chris one time, He was at the Manor and at the restarant for a long time , but as soon as Paige cast the spell to turn Rick into Chris the demons popped up?

    • Past or present, since when does Phoebe have the power to shapeshift? If she could do that, it would have solved a lot of their past problems - good or evil.

    • Teen Phoebe's spell "The past is the future and the future is the past" -- Wouldn't that mean that sometime in the past, the Senior class turned into their older selves for a while???

    • Just a question...How did teen Phoebe have all that power? Phoebe's powers are passive powers. Since when can she just wave her arm or say something and the people are different? Just a little thing I was thinking about.

    • Phoebe only transported out of contact with Rick for about 30 seconds. How could he chain Ramona somewhere else in that time? Surely the Charmed Ones could search the local area for her very quickly.

    • What happened to the fact that the girls are supposed to "protect the innocent, not punish the guilty?" Remember "Morality Bites?" They punished Rick, played a part in his killing in fact. That goes against their "code" as good witches.

    • Paige and Phoebe gave Rick the face and body of Chris, and suddenly the Scabber Demons show up? First off, its been established in many seasons that demons track you by your powers. That was how it was with Cole, Whitelighters, and pretty much everyone else. So giving Rick Chris's face would mean absolutely nothing to the demons... unless they were sitting there watching the house for someone who looked like him to show up. But even then they would sense a lack of powers.

  • QUOTES (27)

    • (Chris and Victor are outside smoking cigars.)
Chris: Uh, listen, about those things, you might want to pick up a different habit. To avoid future problems, if you know what I mean.
Victor: Oh, geez. (He puts out the cigar.) Thanks for the tip.

    • Classmate: Phoebe! Hi! Wow, you look great.
      Phoebe: Oh! Really? Thanks.
      Classmate: Well, see you inside.
Phoebe: Yeah. That would be great.
(The classmate heads into the ballroom as Phoebe smiles, obviously a plastered smile)
      Paige: Who was that?
      Phoebe: I have no idea!

    • Piper (about Leo): The point is, he's not around.
      Victor: Was he ever?
Piper: Were you? (he gives her a look) Sorry.
Victor: No, no, no. I, uh, I deserve that. I wasn't around enough for you girls, but, uh, I wanna make up for that with Wyatt and his little…um… (he points, indicating the new baby)
Piper: It's a boy. Chris, actually.
Victor: "Chris". Why did you choose that name?
Piper: I don't know. And…he won't tell me. He's very secretive about the future. He's actually the reason I asked you to come. See, he, um, hates me, and he doesn't wanna talk to me, and I need you to find out why.
Victor: I don't understand your wiccan ways, but I'll try. (he smiles, clears his throat and starts talking to Piper's tummy) Hello, Chris! (chuckles, as Piper rolls her eyes) Chris? Hello, Chris. Can you hear me?
      Chris (off-screen): Someone calling me?
Piper: Yeah, uh, sweetie, could you come here a sec?
Victor: Jeez! He can come out?
      (Chris walks in)
Chris: Uh, can we air this out? 'Cause I gotta get- (he sees Victor) Grandpa! (he rushes past Piper and gives Victor an enthusiastic hug. Victor looks confused and smiles at Chris)

    • Phoebe (to Rick): I kill demons everyday. You think I'm afraid of you?

    • Paula: Todd! There you are, sweetie. (notices Phoebe) Oh, and there you are. I was wondering if you'd have the nerve to show up.
Phoebe: What do you mean "nerve"?
Paula: Oh. You're the talk of the reunion. You know, you can fool San Francisco with your pithy advice, but you can't fool us. We all know you, sweetie.
      Todd: That's enough, Paula.
Phoebe: So what is that supposed to mean?
Paula: It means you're a fake. The only thing you were ever known for
was lying and ditching and stealing boyfriends.
Paige: Phoebe, are you gonna let someone with a giant helmet that passes for hair talk to you like that?
Ramona: God, Paula. Just because Todd had a thing for Phoebe, you don't have to be so mean.
Paula (to Ramona): I'm not being mean. I'm doing her a favor. (to Phoebe) To the rest of the
world, you might be "Ask Phoebe", but to us, you'll always be "Freebie".
(Phoebe looks hurt. She turns and walks away)
      Paige (to Phoebe): You okay?
(Paula smirks with pride. Paige glares at Paula, then walks away to follow Phoebe)
Paula (to Todd): Hey. Let's dance. Hmm?
(cut to the hallway. Phoebe is walking and Paige follows her quickly)
Paige: Hey. Why didn't you just tell that chick to go screw herself?
(Phoebe turns into Teen Phoebe, then quickly turns back into her adult self)
      Paige: Phoebe?
      Phoebe: Okay, what just happened?
      Paige: You tell me.
Phoebe: I have no idea. I was just standing here, and then I had some weird high school flashback.
Paige: Yeah. Your whole body just flashed back.
Phoebe: What? Are you kidding me? I-I just felt-
      Paige: Pissed?
      Phoebe: Very.
Paige: Well, as someone who's seen Carrie, both versions, I'd say the reunion is over.

    • Victor: Nothing is going to happen to you honey, not now.

    • Piper: He was dying and I was crying....

    • Paige: And she's under the influence.
      Chris: Of alchohol?
      Paige: No. Adolecence.

    • Phoebe: Are you crazy or just plain stupid?

    • Victor: I do know that Chris loves you.
      Piper: Yeah?
      Victor: Yeah.

    • Piper (about Chris): He hates me.
      Paige: No he doesn't.
      Piper: Yeah. He does.
Piper leaves and Paige rolls her eyes.

    • Teen Phoebe: Well I'd rather be rich then a bitch!
(Paula turns into a dog as everyone gasps, dog Paula runs away through the group of people)
Ramona (shocked): What the hell was that?!
Teen Phoebe: I don't know but it was so cool!
(She steps in front of everyone as Ramona looks at Phoebe in shock)
Teen Phoebe: The past is the future, the future is the past. Let's welcome back the senior class!
(Everyone suddenly acts like wild teens and thrashes up the place)

    • Ramona: Could I please have your autograph?
Phoebe: Yeah but I normally charge twenty dollars per autograph.
Ramona: Oh, I think I have a twenty here.
      Phoebe: I'm kidding.

    • Piper (after hearing what Phoebe did): Why what happened?
Paige: Um...this woman called her 'Freebie'.
Piper: Oh yeah, that would've done it.

    • Paula (talking to Phoebe on the phone): Is this Freebie?
Phoebe: You bet your ass. And I'm comin' for you bitch! (She hangs up the phone.)

    • Paige: You're not a teenager anymore!
      Phoebe: Very good Paige.

    • Paige (calling the slime to orb): Icky stuff!
      Piper: Icky stuff?
Paige: Hey, it worked, didn't it?

    • Piper (to Victor, after Chris orbs him in): You're okay.
Victor (as Chris helps him into a chair): Who says I'm okay?
Chris: Don't worry. You'll learn to like orbing in the future.

    • Victor: Did I take you to batting cages?
      Chris: No.
      Victor: Strip clubs?
      Chris: God no!

    • Paige: Gym teacher?
Phoebe: How did you know she was a gym teacher!?
      Paige laughs.

    • Chris: I've got some Scabbers on my tail.
Piper: Well, I've got some hydrogen peroxide...

    • Piper: Well, whatever it is, it obviously doesn't happen until you're born. So, save it. Got it?
      Chris: I got it, Mom.
      Piper: Huh?
      (They both smile)

    • Chris (after the first Scabber attack): I'm sorry about this.
Piper: It's okay. Kids are messy.

    • Paige (to Piper) : Want to come help me look in the Book of Shadows?
Chris: Yeah, and I should be getting back before the Scabber demons notice I'm gone.
Piper: What, and leave your awesome Grandpa alone? Grab a sandwich. Grab a beer. (to Victor) Get an answer!
After Piper and Paige go upstairs. Victor pulls two cigars out of his pocket.
      Victor: Cubans?
Chris makes a funny face, but nods.

    • Chris: Uh, what is the gi-got?
Waiter: Ze gigot is your choice. Leg of lamb or mutton.
Chris: Oh, what is that, meat?
Waiter: Yes, is meat. Comes from a sheep, you know? Baa-baa.

    • Victor: So, in the future, we're close?
      Chris: Yeah Grandpa, you're awesome.
Victor (to Piper): Did you hear that? Awesome.

    • Victor: Then why are you treating her like she doesn't exist?
Chris: Because in my world, she doesn't exist. She dies when I turn 14.
Victor (looking stunned) : Is that the event? (Chris nods.) How?
Chris: I can't, alright? I've already said too much. The point is, after I save Wyatt I have to go back to a place where she isn't. I can't let myself get close to her only to lose her again.
Victor: Maybe that's all the more reason to get close to her.

This is a reference to the boardgame Monopoly. A player can draw and use a Get-Out-of-Jail Free card.

    • Paige: Speaking as someone who has seen Carrie, both versions, I'd say this reunion's over.

This is a reference to the Stephen King novel Carrie that was made into a film in 1976. It starred Sissy Spacek as 'Carrie White', an awkward teenager who had the ability to move objects with her mind and after a high school prank turns her prom into a blood bath with her ability. The movie was remade into a made-for-tv movie in 2002 starring Angela Bettis. A feature film sequel The Rage: Carrie 2 in 2002 starred Emily Bergl as 'Rachael Lang', a girl who also demonstrates telekinesis.
