"Ex-convict Griff Nolan is jealous because his wife Libby earns more as a magazine editor than he does as a mechanic. More domestic strife develops when Griff becomes jealous of Libby's boss Lewis Bates --- and buys a gun." -- TV Guidemoreless
Julie London cries her a river in this strange role as a duplicitous damsel with her eyes dangerously on the prize. Guardino hams it up a bit (okay, quite a bit) but he's basically fun as the Cassevetes-like character who's all wound up and about to blow any minute. Simon Oakland takes on a rare assignment as a kind of evil guy. But then, everything about this one is a bit evil. That's why I like it, for that pervasive, lurking atmosphere of menace. It hits all the noir buttons just fine. Okay, the housewife vs career angle got a bit cave, but then, it was the 50s (or near enough), so whadja expect?...and that's no doubt just the sort of thing that led London to tweak out like she did.moreless
