Episode Summary

EDIT
The Deadly Silence
AIRED:

A deaf mute schoolteacher runs to Don's apartment for protection from thugs after she lip-read a conversation they were having at a restaurant. She could make out only jumbled portions of it, but it was enough to make her a target for murder. Don stays at her side while Checkmate looks for her would-be assassins.

A goofy one, but it made for a good time nonetheless. Okay, the one thing this show does NOT need is for anything (like ASL) to encumber the rapport even more! But fortunately it offered up some zany doings as compensation. Donna Douglas makes another appearance (a year before Ellie May) as a delightfully charming and playful new receptionist for the firm. And then we go all beatnik and crazy and stuff for an extended visit in some Beat GIrl's pad (during which Dr Hyatt displays the proper moue in reaction to talk of health food). And Anthony George once again attempts to convey empathy with all the grace of Robbie the Robot; you can practically see "Oh my God, you're so sad, incomplete and pathetic" in his eyes every time he talks to the deaf woman (lol).moreless
