The Heat of Passion
AIRED:
At Corey's urging, a reluctant Dr. Hyatt is staying at a lodge for some much needed rest and recreation. The lodge's handyman is plotting the death of the owner, with the help of an escaped convict. The owner's wife, who is also the handyman's ex-lover, is in on the plot, but is ambivalent. When Hyatt's suspicions are aroused, he calls the Checkmate headquarters, and Jed arrives at the lodge, posing as a guest.moreless

  • Peyton Place fans, gather 'round!

A veritable paradise for Peyton Place fans, with both Dorothy Malone and Ed (Kooky) Nelson in the cast, although here their involvement is a good deal more insidious. Nelson somehow elicits sympathy, despite the sliminess of his character, and Malone goes through a gamut of emotions (here she isn't just the sympathetic-eyes-and-smile that she generally is on Peyton). McClure amuses (and indeed impresses) as the auteur-crazed head of Evawwen Productions (that's New Wave backwards)...and interestingly demonstrates that the phrase New Wave was already in general American usage way back in 1961.moreless
