  • Instant classic!

An instant classic! A delight from start to finish. John Williams is superb in his role, and the whole thing is managed so well that somehow it all seems perfectly plausible. More like an Alfred Hitchcock Presents than an episode of Checkmate, and marvelously scripted and directed by Douglas Heyes. Here (since George and Cabot are locked in the same room with the others for the duration) the perennial problem of rapport between the 3 leads doesn't surface at all. Obviously a "filmed play" type of production, but one which never seems in the least canned for all that. The entire cast is wonderful, and sly touches of humor only add to the fun.moreless
