In truth, I wasn't paying terribly much attention to the main plot of this one, so I suppose it did all make sense in the end. Arnie is on hand, well before his mustache became quite so waxed, as a piano-playing weasel. We also (thanks to the doc) learn the meaning of "ecdysiast" (if only the spellchecker here had watched this episode!). And unfortunately Devlin makes another superfluous call on the proceedings, prompting me to once again wonder why Jed Sills couldn't have handled that duty. There is ample reason though to watch this episode, and that's due to the assortment of little characters that parade through it. I'm thinking of the clerk who talks to himself while he's sorting change, and the best scene in the whole shebang: the one between Devlin and the stripjoint manager who's counting his money. That guy elicited frequent laughs, and was clearly the highlight/standout of the entire evening's entertainment.moreless
