You know 2008 is only eight days old, right?

I am still worried - will they include the Cheers 200th episode special? I have that on VHS from the original broadcast, but the tape is 17+ years old and who knows if it'll play, so I really want it included on the DVD.

How can you still be worried? THEY ARE RELEASING SEASON 9 OF CHEERS!

I would imagine that it won't be long after that that they will finish the series of with the final 2 seasons.

I remember the 200th special and it was mainly a selection of clips from previous Cheers episodes. There were a couple of questions and answers with the Cheers cast but apart from that.

Just think! We will be able to watch the whole series of Cheers on crystal clear DVDs that will last a lifetime!

Whatever happens, enjoy season 9 in April.

This is good news. I apologose for the mis-information I provided on the earlier thread; I was only conveying what I was told. Maybe my contacting Paramount prompted them to release Season 9 - just a joke.

on the same day they also announced Becker season 1. I think Ted Danson's turn in Damages permited this.

Hey Guys just to let you know, you can now pre-order the ninth season on Amazon. It is a five disc set it says, so i wonder what that fifth disc could be. At any rate, we need to buy this DVD so tell all your friends so this doesn't happen for seasons ten and eleven.

Amazon has made a mistake, there are only 4 discs, at least according to 'Loadad247'. Also, if you divide the running time (629mins) by the number of episodes (26) you get 24 mins per episode which does not leave any time for special features. It's still great that they are releasing season 9 though. Personally, I can't wait. Shelton

Even when the early seasons were released and they included special features, there were still only 4 discs.

I don't really mind that there are no special features. I'm just pleased that they are releasing season 9. I also hope that they will release the final 2 seasons in 2008. I don't want to wait another 2 years for the next release. That just wouldn't be fair.

Exactly...I hope they release all three remaining seasons this year. This is my favorite show of all time! I'd be even more happy if they release all seasons on BLU-RAY!
