I'm from the UK and I love Frasier but was a bit too young for Cheers when that was on. I've recently been watching Frasier on our Paramount Comedy channel and have noticed that they're starting to show Cheers from the start - is it worht watching now if I've never seen it before. Also - when does Frasier come in - is he a main character or is he just in a few episodes here and there.

    Thanks

It is definately worth watching. Frasier comes in, I think in season 3. He starts as a kind of guest star then becomes a regular on the series. It is definately worth watching.

absolutely! After a few episodes, you'll realize why Cheers is said to be the #1 sitcom ever!

Frasier starts at the season 3 premiere, and during the 3rd and 4th years he will be recurring. he will be part of the regular cast beginning with the 5th year, untill the end of the show in year 11

Frasier is better. but I think Cheers is the best of it's era. Comedy changes over time, so nothing can ever be said to be the best ever, unless it survives the tests of time. This is just not possible!

I would say "Seinfeld" is the funniest TV show of all time, though "Cheers" and "Frasier" are definitely Top 10.

"Cheers" is the best sitcom of all time, with "Mary Tyler Moore" a close second.  I could watch any and every episode of Cheers over and over again; I didn't see most of the final season of Seinfeld and I can't watch more than a couple of minutes of it now. And give me a Norm entrance joke anytime over Kramer being applauded for stumbling into a room.

Though granted, the Kramer applause thing only occured during seasons 4 and 5. I'm guessing even the producers thought it was annoying.

Yeah they only had that in Season 4 and a little bit of Season 5. Larry David really disliked that alot

    3. Cheers
    4. Frasier
    5. Will and Grace

it depends on the criteria you use to rank them. Seinfeld is definately the funniest out of them, but Cheers is imo the overall best show. There's no arguing that Cheers was the most successful of them. The other 3 don't really do much for me. Although i do agree with your HBK sig. I was cheerin 4 him when i was @ wrestlemania on sunday!!

    My top ten comedies are:

    1. Seinfeld
    2. The Honeymooners
    3. The Simpsons (even with the recent creative slump)
    4. Cheers
    5. All in the Family
    6. Taxi
    7. Frasier
    8. Arrested Development
    9. Barney Miller
    10. I Love Lucy

Ugh, what an abomination. "Friends" and "Will & Grace" aren't even in the same league as "Frasier" or "Cheers". It's not even close.
