That bugs me too. If I knew they were definately going to be released I don't mind how long the wait is. But, the thought that they may never be released is awful.

    My sentiments exactly.

just thought i'd tell you that i was watching frasier season 9 last night and on the previews it had clips of dvd sets to look out for and one of them was a clip of cheers season 11. Maybe we can therefore expect the final seasons to be released eventually.

It gives me a little bit of hope, seeing those Season 11 clips on the new Frasier DVD. But the way they word it, they make it sound - sort of - like its already available.

Does anyone else look at the list of releases and wonder why the heck they are releasing some of those titles, and they can't seem to release Cheers? I realize its lots of different companies, and that everyone has different taste, but some of them have got to be huge marketing gambles, where, comparatively, Cheers Seasons 9-11 should do pretty well.

I got that impression as well. They do give the impression that the clips they were showing were available which is ridiculous since there is no sign of Cheers season 9 let alone the final season.

I can only conclude that they do indeed intend to release the final seasons given time. Maybe we are all worrying too much about the completion of the Cheers DVD set!

    Let's hope so.

I'm guessing they will do as they did with Frasier - release the final season next, then seasons 9 and 10. Since the clips in the Season 9 Frasier DVD shows clips from the final season, that seems to be what they are hinting at.

Ticks me off that they won't give a release date, though!

I noticed that the new DVDs (Frasier, Wings) are produced by CBS Paramount, rather than just Paramount, so looks like there has been a change.

I did a search for CBS Paramount Cheers DVD and found this information - not really sure what it is telling us!

     http://www.cbspressexpress.com/div.php/cbs_products/release?id=278

There is also a contact e-mail posted at the bottom of that page:

Vice President, CBS Communications Group bstoller-feldman@cbs.com

     I'll be writing to her.

They put "Wings" on DVD? Any reason why?

I have no idea. I never really cared for Wings, and Cheers is light years ahead of it.

Wikipedia usually lists release dates on DVD's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheers

but nothing listed for Season 9 yet, still says TBA.

Hello Stuart--good point! I'm a big 'Wings' fan too and they were right about those release dates...so I assumed the best. It's all I have to cling to...

This is starting to get on my nerves. Paramount can't even be bothered to let the many Cheers fans know what is actually going to happen about the final 3 seasons on DVD. All they are interested in is money with no thoughts about customer satisfaction. Although I am pleased that I started a thread which has to date clocked up 76 comments, I do wish it was under happier circumstances.

We can only hope they release them now. Hopefully they do, it doesnt seem right without them releasing those last seasons.
