In the pre-credits teaser Coach and George can be seen playing cards at the bar. This is one of the few times the teaser was not stand-alone and contained elements of the episode's plot.
The age difference between Sam and Diane is cited as six or seven years, or maybe eight or nine. If they wanted to know, it's curious they don't exchange ages. Their real life age difference is less than two years.
It was already established in the episode "The Boys in the Bar" that Cheers had a back door. That's how he got in when he swindled them with the pool table.
The rear entrance has been mentioned in many episodes - remember when Norm used it twice: 1) when he was working as a dishwasher for Melville's, 2) when he was living in Sam's office when everyone thought he was in Bora Bora.
He's Harry "the Hat" notrorious for being a con man/magician, he doesn't need a rear entrance to Cheers to show up in the back room after leaving through the front door. That's the point of the gag!
Near the end of the episode, Harry goes out the front door, supposedly after swindling them all of their money. A few moments later, he reappears from the back room - but there is no rear entrance to Cheers.
There is no back door, but Harry could have slipped in one of the two street level windows that are featured in the poolroom
(Sam looks confusingly at the bar full of jars and bottles)
Diane: Dash of pepper. Lots of ingredients in a Blood Mary, Sam
Sam: Yeah, I know that's why we usually mix up 5 gallons and put it in the refrigerator before hand. How come you're doing this Carla? Why'd you let her do it.
Carla: I wanted to see her try and make vodka
Diane: Sam, excuse me, where do you keep the measuring spoons?
Sam: We don't have any.
Diane: What? (Looks in Bartenders Guide Book) Precise measurements is one of the keys to a good drink, page 12!
Carla: Serving it the same day it's ordered is right up there too.
Harry: It seems that he got in trouble with the boys in Vegas, and has been keeping kind of a low profile. It could be him, most of these guys lay low by making money off dumb saps
Coach: So where do I come in?
George: I hope I don't embarass myself.
Norm: Embarass yourself? You're playin' poker with a bunch of guys who can't bet and chew gum at the same time. (take gum out of his mouth)
Coach: Gee Sam, isn't there anything we can do about it? Anything?
Carla: I've got it. We beat him up, strip 'em, take his money, and put him on a bus.
Diane: Subtle, Carla.
Carla: Hey, that's how I got to Boston.
Diane: I find older men stimulating.
Sam: I hope you're not talking about me.
Diane: Well certainly not. You're not the least bit stimulating.
Sam: You're in a pretty good mood tonight.
Diane: Why not? Last night I was up till two in the morning finishing off Kierkegaard.
Sam: I hope he thanked you for it.
Cliff: If we gave as much money to the space program as we have to this guy, we'd have condos on Venus.
Norm: Don't show fear, he smells fear!
Diane: Why didn't you guys let us in on it?
Harry: I didn't think you guys were bright enough to pull it off.
Diane: I still don't like you.
Coach: Let me give the sign.
Sam: I dont know, isn't it kinda tricky?
George: Well, he is the last person Harry would suspect to be in on anything clever.
Harry: I was never too impressed with Arizona hustlers either, except they have good sinuses.
Sam: What do you call the guy who brings the money?
Harry: Call him "The guy who brings the money".
Harry It's okay, I'm toying with him, giving him a false sense of security
Sam That looks like a genuine sense of security
Carla Would you two put your glands on hold long enough for us to get some work done here?
Harry: That's Eddie the Mole. In Phoenix they call him MoleMan. In Philly they call him Sid
Sam and Coach: Sid?
Harry: Philly's a dull town
Sam: I just had the worst idea ever!
Carla: Worse than hiring her (Diane)
Sam: I just had the second-worse idea ever!
Sam: You had George thinking that you and him were working together when all the while it was you and Harry.
Coach: You're not even close Sam.
Harry: Yeah he is.
Coach: Oh, that's it exactly Sam.
