Diane says her father has been dead for 10 years, yet in "Coach's Daughter" she refers to him in the present tense.
In this episode Norm asks Coach if this is the first wedding in Cheers. This would suggest that Coach's knowledge of Cheers dates back before Norm's. Yet in another episode Coach asks Norm who Gus is and Norm says he was two owners ago, which would suggest the opposite.
Sam: You're beginning to sound like my wife, or something.
Diane: Excuse me, we are getting married. Now I may not be asking for 50 years of love, honor, and obey, but it would be nice if during the ceremony you didn't drool
Carla: Every accident needs some witnesses.
Sam: I learned a long time ago never to trust anybody wearing a wedding gown, especially a woman.
Diane: This is very strange.
Carla: That you have a mother?
Diane: No, that she's coming over here.
Coach: What'll it be Norm?
Norm: Fame, fortune, fast women.
Coach: How about a beer?
Norm: Even better.
Coach: My friends call me "Coach", but my other nickname is Red.
Helen: Why? Because your hair used to be red?
Coach: No, because I read a book.
Boggs: Would you do me a favor, madam?
Helen: What's that?
Boggs: Would you drive?
Helen [to Sam and Diane]: Oh... kinky.
Sam: I hate your guts and I always will.
Diane: That goes double for me.
Norm: [to Cliff] I understand they wrote their own vows.
Sam: Where do you want to go on our honeymoon?
Diane: I should have know. As usual, Mr. Malone has his brains caught in his zipper.
[Carla talks about Sam to Diane and her mother.]
Carla: Admit it, he's got you steaming under the silks.
Diane: [shocked] This happens to be my mother.
Carla: Well, that's why I'm being delicate!
TV Guide citation: In the March 5, 1983 issue, the Cheers 'n' Jeers page gives the program a Jeers.
"Or should we say "Jeahs"-for the lack of real Boston accents on St. Elsewhere and Cheers, both set in Beantown. Why, if somebody came on screen and asked where one could pahk a cah, no one would know what he was talking about."
NBC rebroadcast this episode on September 8, 1983.
"Cheers is filmed before a live studio audience" is announced by John Ratzenberger.
Carla urges Sam to marry Diane. In virtually every other episode she loathes the idea.
Paul Willson makes his first appearance on the show. Later on in the series he will play the semi-regular character Paul Krapence, although here his character is called Gregg.
Somewhat confusingly, Paul Willson's character is called "Gregg" in the credits, but in the actual episode Coach calls him "Glen".
