Except for an appearance during a cold opening in the final episode of the season, this was Nicholas Colassanto's final appearance.
As much of a stickler for rules as he is, coupled with his pride in the US Postal Service, Cliff would well be aware that it is a Federal crime for anyone other than a letter carrier to handle undelivered mail. This is one of the first things letter carriers are taught and Cliff would know this, no matter how sick he was.
The book that Sam & Coach are using to learn geography, "The World & It's People", has a mispelling in its title. The "it's" being misused in place of "its", it should have been "its" meaning "belonging to" and not it's meaning "it is".
Why does Sam not go to Cliff for help with geopraphy and instead pass him and Norm. I would think Cliff would be the first he goes to?
At a certain moment, you can see Coach leaving the bar because he's a bit mad at Sam. Later, when Sam is trying to find someone to study with, the last one he's trying to convince is Diane. During their discussion, you can see Coach waiting to enter at the stairs outside. Off course, you can't see coach entirely, but you can spot a bit of coach's jacket when someone is exiting the bar...
During the pool table scene near the end of the episode, a boom mike comes down too far over the table and is clearly visible for several moments before being hoisted back up.
During the final scene when Frasier and Diane rush out of Cheers, a piece of cloth or clothing falls into the lower right corner of the scene just as the door begins to close, despite the fact there was nothing that could have fallen upon examining the wider shot just seconds before.
Frasier's owning a dog and his obvious affection for the animal seems odd in light of his antipathy and downright hostility towards Eddie, later in Frasier.
I noticed that while watching this episode in syndication, in the part towards the end when Carla goes into Sam's office with Nick, right before they go in Carla says "I got a new rule... no touching." But on the DVD set you don't hear that line, it seems like Carla wasn't even moving her mouth so maybe it wasn't supposed to even be in the final cut and was just dubbed in on occasion in syndication. Has anyone else ever noticed this or am I just crazy?
After Hester threatens Diane, Frasier heads to the bathroom, saying "you only RENT a Château Lafite Rothschild." This would have been quite a faux-pas as there are few (if any) dishes that a true wine-lover would pair with the cuisine that a seafood like Melville's would serve, especially the bouillabaisse (seafood stew) that Diane mentioned before going up to the restaurant.
Nancy Marchand who guests in this episode as Frasier's mother would later come to popularity and fame as Livia Soprano, Tony Sopranos mother on the smash hit HBO series, "The Sopranos."
Maybe Sam's just too good to need aphrodisiacs :-) Another thought is that he didn't need them at first but he has begun to, as part of his addiction to s*x (which is revealed in a later season.) Sort of like a person who keeps needing a bigger high.
At the beginning of the episode, Sam seems eager to know what the aphrodisiac is that's listed in Carla's magazine. Wouldn't Sammy(the master of love) know every aphrodisiac in the book?
Cliff mentions to Norm for the first time in the series that he still lives at home with his mother.
In this episode, several members of the gang pick on Cliff, mocking his lack of female companionship, and one even asking if anyone even seen Cliff with a woman (Norm and Sam defend Cliff). The gang seem to forget the previous season's episode Little Sister Don't Cha, when Cliff dated Carla's sister. Their relationship wasn't a secret.
Frasier said he wasn't DIANE'S doctor.
