Chewin' the Fat was a cult smash in Scotland, an award-winner, and was watched/worshipped with a fervour unseen since the heyday of Rab C. Nesbitt. A sketch show, it poked fun at Scottish, US and English sterotypes, merging farce, outrageous humour, social commentary. Two characters, Jack and Victor, have gone on to form their own spin-off series, Still Game, which has further smashed CTF's own record. This was a great show that gave us huge laughs and something to talk about after the weekend.

Chewin' the Fat was enjoyable from the huge range of characters it had and the catch phrases that became very popular in Scotland. The seasons have stopped but we are still treated to New Years Eve episodes, which i think are lacking in humour the newer they are. It depends on the characters that feature in it. I'm glad my favourite characters Jack and Victor got their own series and is still going strong thanks to Chewin' the Fat. The actors are very talented from their changes in characters from OAP'S to Neds. It even got a live stage show which is now out on VHS OR DVD, i think?moreless
