  • Hope does Hitchcock

    9.1
    "Superb"
When Chicago Hope hit the airwaves, I thought it was infinitely superior to ER, mainly due to the presence of Mandy Patinkin as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger. When Patinkin left the show, I no longer watched as regularly.

However, this episode shows that the writers and producers still had their touch. The episode is a great deal of fun, with allusions and references to "The Birds," "North By Northwest," "Psycho," and "Rear Window." It is done with an obvious reverence for the work of Hitchcock, as well as a great deal of humor.

While Patinkin's presence would have made the episode even better, this one is definitely worth catching -- even if you're not a big fan of the series.moreless
