Chicago Mysteryland Players is a series of thirty minute episodes that
was first broadcast locally on Chicago's WGN-TV station way back in
1947, and then nationwide on DuMont Television Network two years later. A
revolutionary idea for its time, the Chicago Mysteryland Players was a
crime drama, but the viewers were not given the conclusion to the show's
mystery during the episode; this was instead provided in the following
day's Chicago Tribune newspaper. The paper also owned the TV network.
