Chick Corea: Rendezvous in New York was filmed while recording the album of the same name. Chick Corea, sometimes known as the Keyboard King, is an American jazz pianist whose career dates back to the 1960's when he was a member of Miles Davis' band. The film, and the Grammy winning album it was based on, give a look back at the modern jazz movement. Most of the film takes place at the Blue Note Club where Corea performs with nine different bands in a variety of live performances. Among the more inspirational moments is a duet between Corea and Bobby McFerrin, known for his verbal jazz stylings. Other artists that perform alongside Corea include Michael Brecker, saxophonist, and Gary Burton, who plays the vibraphone. There's also behind the scenes footage of people who have worked with Corea, recalling their careers together. This film treats jazz enthusiasts with some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time.
