It somehow puzzles me that while C&D are the main characters of this cartoon, and they have a "Jin and Jang" opposite personalities, only Dale had his own stories and episodes, Chip hadn't (only Seer no evil). I think some great stories could be written for his personality, but it seems authors were unable to do some. The other characters also have their shows, even the underused Zipper...

Off topic question: Are Chip n' Dale brothers in CDRR?

In the old 1930's cartoons, they were known as brothers!

To my knowledge it was never mentioned. Although I would imagine they are most probarly are. They appear almost Identicle to each other, apart from Dale's goofy teeth. But then all chipmunks look the same

I think I remember in the RR series, Dale refers to Chip as his best friend.

Nansci,The term is "Yin and Yang", just thought I'd clear that up for you. I myself don't think Chip and Dale are brothers, just good friends.

I think they're brothers and best friends. If they were brothers in the cartoons, why wouldn't they be brothers in the show? I don't think Disney would just change it like that.

Oh, and their noses were different too. It wasn't just the teeth.

Omigosh, I totally remember this show from when I was little!
Anyway, back to the topic, I'm next to positive that Chip and Dale are brothers. I just thought that was a common fact, but then again I can't think of any place to confirm that at. Anyone got the new DVD of season 1? Maybe that'll help.
(Besides it'd totally make sense for them to be brothers)

There are SORTA some other eps that focus on Chip, but he usually winds up sharing the spotlight ^_^ I thought of that ep too, first off, but I'd say maybe 'Adventures in Squirrelsitting' could be another, or 'Pound of the Baskervilles', when Chip seems to be standing out in the ep.

Usually character-revolving eps focus on the weaknesses and/or the general dilemmas (plural? dilemmae? haha) of any of the 5 characters.

Gadget is an inventor and sometimes her inventions don't receive the "air-time", let's call it, to be tested before they're REALLY needed, or she doubts her abilities.

Dale is GOOFY and needs to learn discipline sometimes.

Zipper's just small and feels unimportant sometimes, but that has NOTHING to do with a behavioral problem or anything he can really change, outside of trying 1 of Gadget's inventions or some junk, but that would just make it another ep that'd split the focus between at least 2 characters

Monty's problem is his obvious weakness for CHEEEEEEEEE-EEEE-EEEEEEse! hahahaha: that was fun lol (I could use some discipline, muhself! "TOO ROIGHT!") He ALSO sometimes needs to learn, like Chip, that he hasn't figured out everything about his surrounding in any given situation.

'Dirty Rotten Diapers' was a good example of how Gadget points out they ALL need to learn gentle technique and patience sometimes to stop a crime or solve a mystery (team weakness).

I think Chip could learn some humility about assuming his plans and methods are so surefire, and not doubt Dale so much. He tends to be a know-it-all: even when he's in the wrong and CLUELESS, actually! He needs to be a bit more open-minded. In 'One-Upsman Chip', he learns a bit about discipline and hypocrisy as well.

generally i liked dale better even though he was dumber than a box of bricks. chip always came off as a humorless anal retentive hardass.

its no suprise that gadget never ended up with either one of them.
