Jon and Ponch are chasing thieves who steal luxury cars. The thieves are using moving vans with stolen license plates. Ponch has problems with Sgt. Getraer and can´t do anything right by him.

Was this really a pilot episode to CHiPs???

This was the CHiPs pilot episode. I have alway's been a fan of cHiPs and have never seen the pilot episode. I finally saw it today and boy was I supprised. It didn't seem like a pilot episode. I was kinda like watching any other CHiPs episode. It was good and I liked it, I just thought it would introduce the series, I guess. Well, anyway, the episode was about three sports car jackers and they keep getting away, Ponch (can't spell) get's into a sticky situation while on probation, they catch the car jackers, Ponch and Jon get a comidation, Ponch get's off probation, then the next day in the credits he screws up again and get's back on.moreless

- In the intro for the pilot episode the 2 way radio on the bike is Motorola in subsequent episodes this has been altered to something not quite legible but still has the motorola logo.
