As Officer Baricza is my absolute favourite character of CHiPs, I couldnt wait to watch this episode.
A friend recorded it for me. When I watched it, I was so happy to learn more about Barry Baricza and it was not disappointing for me to meet his mum and dad and to see where hes grown up.
The episode starts with a nearly flying accident by Pete Baricza caused by Lyle Pickett, a vietnam veteran.
The theme is very good: Vietnam war, the flower kids, the veterans and the consequences of using weed-killers.
In this episode we learn more about Jons time in Vietnam and the relationship inside the Baricza family. Pete and Barry try to hide the problems and dont talk to Vera, wife and mum of them. Lyle treats other farmers as the Bariczas and Ponch finds a first clue to find Pickett.
The fact that Baricza quit the Patrol for his dad shows his love to his family. Another theme of this episode is to be honest to the people you love most on earth. After a talk to Jon, Pete first realizes that Barry is only quitting the patrol because of him and his flying school. With a clever trick he shows his son that he doesnt need to immolate a beloved carreer for his old dad.
The only thing what was annoying in this great episode was the thing that the only heroes at the end were Jon and Ponch, like always.
What I miss in this series is an episode which can stay without that.
    This episode is great though.moreless
