I'll have to choose Chobits because it was longer, there was more character and romantic developments and it didn't have the really stupid ending DearS had . That ending made me drop the score I gave DearS dramatically. ^_^

DearS didn't have an ending lol, but other than that I totally agree, about double the # of episodes, and quadruple the development, don't get me wrong like them both....just.... chobits is much better.

I think that they are both cute, but DearS was a little more interesting in my opinion. Can't forget that just because a series is short, doesn't mean it lacks greatness.

They share the same themes of fish out of water special alien/robot with normal guy surrounded by lots of ecchi situations. But Chobits is by CLAMP so it explores the relationships people have with their machines, whereas DearS is more the guy trying to get Rin to have a free will in a society where she cannot.

The biggest difference is the charater Kikuko Inoue voices. In Chobits she's the sweet but mysterious landlady, but in DearS she's the outrageous oversexed exhibitionist teacher.
