Well, I was in my Inuyasha craze. There was this small website (that doesn't exist anymore) that had episodes of some anime that you could download. Naruto, Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, and Chobits. Chobits was the only series I had never heard of before. I googled Chobits to see some pics or screenshots. I remember seeing this really cute picture of Chi and thought her ears were like cat ears (similar to Inuyasha's dog ears). I thought they looked adorable! The site only had the first 5 episodes, so I downloaded and watched them. The show wasn't what I was expected, so I was immediately turned off. However, after awhile, I started thinking about it again, and decided to find and watch the rest of the series.
Well where I come from we dont have alot of manga/anime (I KNOW!!!!)
so I searched for some one day and I came across chobits and alot more and decided to watch the episodes lol aww memories I remember watching the very first Episodes...PORNOS lol aww good times, good times ^^*
Well, I'm glad to find this forum revived!
It was actually only about 2 years ago that I started reading manga and watching anime. My friends at school did, so I tried. The first series of manga I got interested in was actaully Gacha Gacha, which most people didn't find very interesting. Oh well, it was the first manga I'd ever read, so I thought it was brilliant. As I look back on it today, perhaps it's not so brilliant anymore, but it still got me into manga. I followed up with Negima and Love Hina before I went to the library and picked out Tsubasa. All of Clamp's works had "from the creaters of Chobits" on them, so I thought very highly when I found Chobits in the library before I even started reading.
It's a little extreme, but might I say that Chobits was my most influential work? I didn't actually think the anime series was as good as the manga series, but I enjoyed the anime as well, which I watched online afterwards. I've a large picture of Freya as my desktop background now, just to remember her and all the good times I had. I was a little dismayed when all Chobits forums were just about obsolete since the series ran so many years ago, but it's great to be hearing from new voices who enjoyed Chobits as much as I did.
