Mung's old apprentice, Gumbo, looks and dresses very much like Chowder, except that he has green skin and hair, wears glasses, is taller, a big nose, and wears red and green clothes. He is kind of like a fusion form of Chowder and Mung Daal.
1) Truffles' keeps getting called Mrs. Waffles by the Big Hat Biddies.
2) Gazpacho keeps trying to entertain the Big Hat Biddies by playing his collection of drums.
Premiered in Poland on April 15, 2009, months before it aired in USA.
Mung: Finally, the Big Hat Biddies end their meeting with a huge meal.
Chowder: HUGE MEAL?! (dresses like a lady) Where can I sign up? Be honest, Mung. Does my butt make this dress look big? Hmmm?
Chowder: The Big Hat Biddies? What is?
Mung: The Big Hat Biddies is a group of a bunch of old hags who get all dolled up in big fancy hats.
Chowder: (amazed) Just like the fire department.
Mung: And they get together and talk about lady things, like complaints about their husbands... and hats! But mostly they complain about their husbands.
Chowder: Truffles is gonna have a lot to talk about.
Biddie #1: There's sand in my sandwich.
Biddie #2: (pulls a witch hat out of her sandwich) What's this?
Witch: Give me my hat back! And now, I curse you all with INTESTINAL DISTRESS! (cackles and flies away)
Mung: Curse you, Intestinal Distress Witch! You'll never tumble MY tummy!
Chowder: Gumbo, you're going the wrong way.
Gumbo: YOU know how to get out of here?
Chowder: Sure! (sprouting three pairs of arms) You just go this way, that way, this way, that way, that way, this way, that way, this way, this way, that way, this way, this way!
Chowder: Hey, I had an awesome dream! Every time I tooted, it made money! And I toot a lot so I was rich and I had a house made of... ham, and Mung and Shnitzel were there, and Truffles wasn't there and it was good because it was a dream and not a nightmare, and--
Gumbo: I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID DREAM! I JUST WANNA GO TO SLEEP!
Mung: Hurry, Chowder! We gotta start clubbing these club sandwiches quick! Start clubbing!
Chowder: Got it. (disco ball turns on, club music starts playing and Chowder moves towards club sandwich) Hey, baby! What's your name? You wanna dance? What? What do you mean you have a boyfriend? Pfff. Whatever. (music ends and disco ball goes away) (to Mung) Awkward.
In The Deadly Maze, Chowder breaks the fourth wall when his conscience tells him "This episode is not long enough".
We learned that Mung used to have an apprentice named Gumbo.
Credits: Gazpacho makes a delivery to the company and tries to get Truffles to tip him.
"The Deadly Maze" premiered June 3, 2009 in the US, day after "The Big Hat Biddies" aired.
Kick Out the Jams
When Gazpacho shouts out "It's time kick out the jams yo!" it is a likely reference to the 1968 song "Kick Out The Jams" by MC5.
