    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (7)

      • In "The Chain Recipe", the Pepper Spray lady from the 1st Season episode "The Wrong Address" makes a brief return appearance: spraying Mung in the face with pepper spray (which she also did in the previous episode).

      • When Mung is in the bathroom, he is standing near the sink. When it shows the next picture where you see more of the bathroom and the giant beanstalk, he seems to be missing.

      • Second appearance of Rosemary in The Chain Recipe.

      • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In "The Chain Recipe", Chowder says losing his nose is bad luck and Mung says "That happens in every episode". Then after Truffles loses her hair, she looks at the audience and says "Don't look at me like that!"

      • We see Truffles as a kid for the first time in The Dice Cycle.

      • This is the second time that Mung Daal has been seen in his child form, and the first time that Truffles has been seen as a young girl.

      • In this episode, we find out that Ceviche is a boy.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Chowder: (about Mung) Is he asleep?
Truffles: Better. He's in the bathroom.
Chowder: Good. That gives us at least three hours to get the job done.

      • Chowder: If Mung won't make the chain recipe, then Mung will make the chain recipe.
Colonel Chicken: I declare, I do not understand, I declare.
Chowder: That's because you're not supposed to understand until after the wipe.
        Colonel Chicken: Oh.
        (wipes to next scene)

    • NOTES (1)

      • Credits: Chowder licks the Lava Flow Hot Sauce off the counter. Then Mung puts the hose in Chowder and tells Shnitzel to turn it on. Afterwards, Chowder needs to go to the restroom.

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • The character of Colonel Chicken, who looks like Chowder except with white hair and a white mustache, is probably a reference to Colonel Sanders. In real life, Colonel Sanders was the founder and long-time manager of the restaurant chain of Kentucky Fried Chicken; famous for offering meals revolving around chicken recipes.

      • Johnny Bravo:
The episode segment plot for The Chain Recipe is similar to the episode segment plot of Karma Crisis; only instead of the bad luck resulting from a chain letter, it results from not making a recipe.
