When Anna's new boyfriend turns out to be connected to the Triads, Chuck is ordered to spy on him by becoming his friend, thereby endangering his friendship with Morgan.

Meanwhile Jeff and Lester want to perform at Ellie and Devon's wedding with their band called "Jeffster!" This was very dissapointing from the title you would think this would be a great episode but very dissapointing, I dont even think I laughed once here and this was basicallly a filler epiosde of the season nothing happened at all oh well what goes up must come down. sorry but 8 out of 10moreless
  • Fantastic episode. Best yet.

This is easily one of the best episodes of Chuck to date. I love how they always have a theme that they apply to all of the characters/relationships in the show. In this episode we see Chuck and Morgan's trust relationship juxtaposed with Lester/Jeff and Ellie/Awesome.

Casey's character shows some more depth. They continue to develop the deeper relationship between Chuck and Sarah. Chuck saves the day again with some quick thinking. Morgan grows up a bit. This show stays so fresh and so fun. Great acting, great suspense, great action. Chuck is one of my favorite shows on TV.moreless
  • Basic Chuck episode with one really good scene.

    8.5
Morgan's girl Anna is now seeing a new man! Linked to Asian Triads, Chuck must pretend to befriend the couple at the disgust of his best friend. When you strip everything away, this is still just your basic Chuck episode, following the basic Chuck formula. (More flashes than usual today). The best scene of the show (and possibly the series) is where Chuck basically tears down his best friend as horribly as he can in order to save his life. This really tugged at my emotions, and I was hoping they would really get some life out of that conflict. Unfortunately it was dismissed kinda quick, as Morgan forgives Chuck rather easily.moreless
  • This is one of the best episodes of the series yet.

    9.5
I think that this episode of Chuck was on the best ones so far. The writing, in addition to the acting was superb. I loved the storyline. The theme throughout the whole episode "Best Friends" and the main storyline and the sub-story lines followed suit. It was very believable that Chuck and Morgan are best friends. The same for Jeff and Lester, Awesome and Ellie, Chuck and Sarah and Morgan and Anna. The showed explored every relationship. There was face time for all the characters. This episode just clicked. I especially loved the ending, where all the cast was brought to the same place and the ends were all tied up. Sarah apologized to Chuck and explained why she acted the way she did earlier. How she hadn't anyone that really cared about her. Chuck told her that it wasn't true. Right then they are believable as just friends, people that generally care about each other. Yet the way the episode faded to black we can see that they both want something more. Most episodes of Chuck very, very good, but I think this was one was excellent. Just more evidence that this show needs to continue as long as it can offer such quality television.moreless
  • Friends.

    9.5
Morgan needs Chucks help to spy on Anna when he discovers she has a new boyfriend, along with Jeff and Lester they follow Anna to her rendezvous where Chuck flashes on Anna's new boyfriend who turns out to be connected to a Triad organization, when Casey and Sara find out he is ordered to spy on Anna's new boyfriend and thus put his friendship with Morgan on thin ice.

Whilst Chuck is out saving the world and his friendship Lester and Jeff want to perform at Ellie and Capt Awesome wedding, Jeff wants to make it big but Lester is worried it will split the band and there friendship.

All in all another great fun packed episode, glad Morgan and Anna got back together and wouldn't it be great is Jeffster did play at Ellie and Devons wedding.moreless

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Sarah,John: Stay in the car, Chuck!
Chuck: What-- How-how can I stay in the car when I have to go save Morgan?
Sarah: Please Chuck, just follow orders.
John: Bartowski, you are like the poster child for friendly fire.

    • Chuck: Morgan! Buddy! How can you properly go into a fight with your breath smelling like that? It's horrible!
Morgan: What? Wow. Way to kick a man while he's down! You know what else? I'm short, and I occasionally have dandruff in my beard! You want to talk about that too?
Chuck: No. No. Wait, you have dandruff in your beard? Really?

    • Sarah: I wanted to apologize. I could've been more sensitive before about your friendship with Morgan. It's just...it's difficult. I don't really have anyone in my life like that who cares about me.
      Chuck: Yeah, you do.

    • Jeff: This is what we've always wanted for Jeffster; we started a small venue like this, pretty soon where playing the big time.
Lester: Yeah, sure we're gonna blow their minds but uh...where's all this lead? Stadium, groupies, drugs, creative differences and then what? Jeffster breaks up, that's you and me, Jeff, and then what's my fate? Some chamber maid finds me in a hotel having accidentally asphyxiated making love to myself? It's just not worth it.

    • (The Buy More gang are spying on Anna)
Chuck: Would you just stop and think about what you're doing for a second?
Morgan: Chuck, I know exactly what I'm doing, brother, I'm getting answers, man.
Chuck: Yeah, but...but there are other ways of doing that.
Lester: Yeah, no absolutely. We tried cloning Anna's cell but she's got a CDMA carrier, so we couldn't copy the SIM card.

    • Chuck: You okay? You really had me worried.
Morgan: I'm so embarrassed. I can't even get my ass kicked with any dignity.

    • Lau: (as Morgan is lifted out of the box) I got a great idea. He can hitch a ride with the Ambassador. Kill two birds with one bomb.

    • Chuck: Look, Sarah, I don't have parents. I mean, not really. I don't talk about it because that's just the way things are now. But it wasn't always this way. Morgan was there the first day that my mom took off. He didn't say much because, honestly, what is a fifth grader supposed to say? But we sat there and split a cherry cheesecake and played Legend of Zelda all night long. And my dad, well that's a whole other story, but Morgan was there for that too. Morgan is more than just my best friend. He's my family. Before you got here, and long after you've gone, Morgan is my family.
Sarah: Last night we failed to learn the contents of the Triad's container. And now we don't know what kind of drugs or weapons are floating around in the city. And while I appreciate your friendship with Morgan, losing sight of that container endangers many people's best friends, not just yours, Chuck.

    • Jeff: You got any idea what Ellie and Awesome thought about Jeffster? I mean, we didn't fully play out, but if you could put in a good word...?
Chuck: Jeff, I don't understand anything that just came out of your mouth, but the truth is, I don't care. I know that you think my concerns are no bigger than the weekend weather or whatever's new in the snack machine, but I have the weight of the damn world on my shoulders. So, if you don't mind, figure out your own crap.

    • Chuck: Wait a minute. You guys have a band?
      Jeff: Jeff.
      Lester: Lester.
      Jeff and Lester: (together) Jeffster!
      Chuck: That seems very fitting.
Jeff: Originally, we were going to go with the name Jester, but we didn't want people to associate us with a couple of fools.

    • General Beckman: Chuck. Use your social connection to infiltrate the suspect.
Chuck: Um. Excuse me, General, but just to clarify, you want me to befriend my best friend's ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend?

    • Beckman: Now, if you excuse me, I am late for my evening plans.
Chuck: Uh, General...um...if you don't mind me asking, what is...what is exactly your version of evening plans?
      Casey: Bartowski!
Beckman: It's not top secret, Major, I'm meeting Condoleeza for Cosmos...even I have friends.

    • Chuck: Actually, you know what. I've been thinking.
      Casey: Stop that.
Chuck: If our mission is to betray Morgan, I think we should have a second mission to convince Anna of what she's missing without him.
Casey: There's only one mission here, moron.
Chuck: Oh! Moron, that's...you know, sticks and stones may break my bones.
Casey: Wanna test that theory, Bartowski?
      Chuck: Not particularly.

    • Jeff: Does it shock you that 80% of my encounters with women have been completely without their knowledge?
Chuck: Honestly, I'm more surprised by the other 20%, Jeff.

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Casey: (about Chuck) See if the skin covered robot flashes on anything.
This is a reference to the T-800, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator trilogy, who was also a skin covered robot, which returned from the future for different reasons in each movie. It could also be a reference to the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles which, at the time of this episode, was airing the second season and had starred Summer Glau, who worked with Adam Baldwin (John Casey) in the short-lived series Firefly and the feature film Serenity.

    • When Lester is unsure about the audition, Jeff convinces him to participate by reciting the opening lines of Eminem's song "Lose Yourself":

Look, if you had one shot, and one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

    • While getting ready for a double date, Sarah puts an object into her purse and exclaims: "Try to plant this GLG20." A GLG20 is in reference to a popular spy comedy, Spies Like Us, starring Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd. The Defense Intelligence Agency needed to enlist two expendable operatives and promote them to the rank of GLG20. The same variation of bug is last used in the series by the Fulcrum agent Lizzie in "Chuck Versus the Marlin".
