This was the second episode of the show I watched and it hooked me. I've always been fascinated with Paris and it's romantic lure. Who knew hidden beneath the romantic vibe was something purly morbid.

The rows upon rows, upon rows of bones, neatly and carefully stacked just lying under the city is so creepy it's awsome. The fact that the bones are moved around every few years just adds to the dark allure of the filth. I'm sure in the dark ages mass graves were the way to go to keep Paris from overflowing with the ravages of disease but it's the multiple catacoombs of skulls and bones that's become the dark ages catacoombs.moreless

    • Eric Geller: Million of people visit the Eiffel Tower, explore the Louvre and roam the Luxembourg Gardens every year, little do they know that beneath their feet lies a world of secret hideouts and endless labyrinths. From off limits underground Nazi bunkers turned graffiti dens to an ancient Roman city buried beneath the Notre Dame and even an underground cavern made entirely of human bones. Paris' underground is a vast system of tunnels filled with dark secrets and hidden pieces of the past. I'm teaming up with Paris' underground fanatics to uncover the subterranean city lurking below the City of Light. We're peeling back the layers of time on Cities of the Underworld: Paris: Catacombs of Death.
