      • According to legend, the man who re-designed the famous astronomical clock in Prague's Old Town Square was blinded soon after the completion of his masterpiece by the same men who commissioned the clock so that a duplicate could never be made.

      • The Charles Bridge was built starting in the year 1357 on the 9th day of the 7th month at exactly 5:31 A.M. because the Holy Roman Emperor Charles the 4th was a strong believer in the power of numerology.

      • The subject of a popular Christmas Carol, "Good King Wenceslas" was a real historical figure in Prague. He was a 10th century Duke of Bohemia, well known for his good deed. Today he is buried at Prague Castle.

      • Princess Libuse, the mythical mother of Prague, was said to bathe with her lovers inside a tower in Vysehrad Castle before throwing them down to their deaths in the river below.
