  • Captivating episode.

Only fitting the weasel went underground, but boy did he ever. Miles and miles of underground hiding places, planning sites, war rooms, factories where prisoners of war (military and civilian alike) were forced to build and repair the very weapons that would be used against them and their compatriots, and ultimately the the holes that entomb the ghostly remnants of the reich in perpetuity.

But what a ghastly web he weaved in creating this maze to house the powerhouse of the reich far away from prying eyes; once the eyes got close enough to Berlin to pry that is. Particularly gripping is the perspective of surviving military and civilian personnel who lived and worked out of the sun; both figuratively and literally.

Its absolutely ghoulish and yet absolutely fascinating to travel the history of this under realm from its time as the base for the creation and sustenance of the war machine, to its ultimate and some how fitting end as a sewer for the rats.

More of what remains will now be destroyed for good, but no doubt history will produce more rats for us to analyse in sickly, post mortem disbelief.
