The show was directed by Granada Television, and ran for around 500 episodes. It went on air on April 1972, and was telecasted until January 1982. This decade long series became a popular film TV program that brought out deep insights of the world of film making, and also covered interesting facts regarding the history of cinema. The show was presented by Chris Kelly, and Graham Murray wrote as well as compiled several editions of this program. Muriel Young was the producer, and on occasions when Kelly was unavailable to present the show, Young fronted the camera and did it by herself.
