Archie and Atlanta are cleaning out the basement for Ares, when Archie finds a mysterious golden box. Curiosity getting the better of him, he opens it and passes out. When he wakes up, there is a small girl standing above him, who is known as Hope.

Hope tells Archie that he has also unleashed not only her, but also a dangerous creature known as a Seeper, a deadly disease. The heroes go out to get a sample of the Seeper, but Atlanta gets infected. Soon only Archie is immune to the disease and he alone can stop the Seeper, with a little Hope.

I really, really loved this episode. It was awesome, and of course it was mainly about Archie for the most part which I enjoyed because he's one of my favourite characters (Atlanta is the other). This particular episode, we learn that Archie has a few traits from his ancestor Achilles, including the fact that he's immune to disease. He's never been sick a day in his life, and finally that will help him save his friends.

Although this episode being fairly about Archie was a lot of what made me love it, there was a lot of humor in it as well--- who can resist hearing Atlanta sing very loudly and very off-key, "pop goes the weasel"? Or her dancing, or screaming Archie's name? Definitely funny to watch, even if after Atlanta screamed you were flinching at the shreaking sound.

My two favourite parts of this episode, other than the start when Atlanta was going through the stages of the disease, had to be when Archie kissed Atlanta on the cheek, and then again at the end when he asked her if she remembered the dancing and both Herry and Odie were dancing together singing "Pop goes the weasel". Of course when Atlanta ruffled Archie's hair and told him "somebody's getting sappy," I just "aww"'d. And everyone was worried about everyone, you really get a sense of how close these hereos have become from fighting Cronus (or more like, his minions)

Hope, although time to time she got annoying with saying "you must have hope", it was understandable that she might have said that because that is after all what she stands for. And I thought she was extremely cute, going around calling people "Mr. Archie, Mr. Herry," etc. Overall, I give this episode a complete full mark of 10/10 for being "exactly why I watch this show".moreless

A very good episode, one that all you COTT fans loved! (well I for one did) another great installment Archie was such a goof around Atlanta and they were cute together.Dyonosiss in greek mythology is Hispanic but in this episode he was well a nerd besides the drunk that he is in greek mythology.if you\\\'ve had a crappy day at school or at work watch this episode.Herry and Odie dancing near the end of the episode was so funny so watch our for that.

    Thanks Mr.Goodchild for making a fantastic episode.moreless

I have to say, next to "The Make-Up Exam" and "The Nature of Things", this has to be one of my favourite episodes released so far. Archie and Atlanta were adorable,(As always!)And the plot was really well thought out. I loved how they dragged a bit of mythology in here and there, to help you really understand the story. This was the first episode of Class of the Titans that I ever saw, and after watching it, I was immediatly hooked. This is a must see episode if you are a fan of the show. I give this episode a 9.8 out of 10.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In the show, it is Dionysus who discovers a cure for the virus. In Greek mythology, Dionysus' opposite is Apollo and he happens to be the god of healing and medicine, until his son took over that.

    • Achilles' spear could only be wielded by him because of its immense weight. Therefore, even though Archie is his descendent, he shouldn't have been able to fight with the spear.

  • QUOTES (22)

  • NOTES (3)

    • This is one of the few episodes where Cronus doesn't appear, or send something to attack them (the only other episode where this also happens is "Sibling Rivalry").

    • Archie comes to realize that he is immune to sickness and disease, although he is probably also invulnerable to most types of weapons, a genetic inheritance from Achilles. This could also explain why Ares gave him the razor-wire Hephaestus Whip, since Archie wouldn't be able to accidently cut off his own limbs.

    • The title seems to be a play on 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • "Pandora's Box" that was mentioned in this episode is actually from the legend about the woman Pandora from Greek Mythology.

Pandora was the only mortal that the Gods all gave a gift to. Hephaestus created a statue, giving Pandora form, and it was Zeus who gave her life. She was given a great skill in spinning and weaving by Athena, and Aphrodite made her beautiful. Many gifts from the Gods later, she was given a gift from Hermes--- he gave her a carved golden box and told her she could never open. But the next gift he gave her was the gift of curiosity, and finally, curiosity got the better of her, and she opened the box, unleashing disease, crime, poverty, everything bad the world now faces. She was only able to put one creature back into the box, which was Forboding. Had this creature been allowed to roam the earth, everyone would know what misfortune they would face in their lives.
