EDIT
When a bad moon rises on All Hallows' Eve, THERESA and the gang find out that HECATE, Queen of the Dead, still has a few tricks up her sleeve. Though Theresa has learned a little magic, Hecate wrote the book on it- like, I mean, what's Theresa supposed to say to stop a legion of ZOMBIES?moreless

  • Great Halloween episode

    10
Halloween is my favorite holiday (like Athena), and also after some reading and research Hecate is now my favorite goddess (I am really into witches and the whole Occult stuff). I also love that episode is all about Theresa and her..."gift"; I think that's what Hecate want with her,and also I never expected that witches like cake, I mean long, long ago people would put cakes by Hecate's satutes to please her...I think or I don't know. One con in this episode, is that scientist dude at the observatory (he is SO **** annoying). So 5 out 5 in my booksmoreless
  • When Chronus summons Hecate only Theresa can try to stop her from awakening the dead. The only problem is that she's an amature at magic while Hecate wrote the book!

I've been waiting for this episode and it didn't let me down. with the plot twists and great humor this was definitly one of my favorite episodes. We also learn that Theresa can use magic to an extent, which will come in use when she has to try to defeat Hecate.

some of my favorite quotes are...

(Theresa is tied up in ropes and her magic won't work. Neil is holding the torches)

Neil: Oooh let me try! Hocus Pocus, Bippity Boo! (Theresa is released from the ropes)

Atlanta: ... Get outta town! and

Jay: Neil, you take care of Archie.

Archie: No Jay, not him! I'm in enough pain already!

I would definatly recomend this to anyone who hasn't seen it!moreless

Ok, seeing as some people haven't seen this yet, the episode not having aired over wherever these people are, here in Australia, I've seen the episode and I decided to write a review for you guys! That's enough clapping now. Anyway, her it is.

Theresa and Atlanta go to see a horror movie (Atlanta repeatedly complains that it isn't even remotly scary), but they have no idea how scary it can be. When a strange creature comes through the screen and lands on Theresa's shoulder, it refuses to leave her. They go to seek the gods for advise only to learn that the creature is the servant of Hecate, Queen of the Dead. Theresa is therefore entrusted to guard two large torches, both of which Hecate needs to bring her zombies to life. The creature tries to steal them, and kind of succeeds, after pushing Archie into a wall and sending Theresa slamming into Jay after the beast has taking her for a fly around the room of course. I'll skip a bit so not to spoil the good parts, but eventually, Theresa ends up back at the movies, where she meets Hecate. They have a magic battle, but Theresa doesn't know that much about magic, as the summary describes. Very soon, Theresa will go where many people have wanted to go: Inside the theatre screen into the movie! By the way, it turns out that all gods love cake... funny huh?moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Since Archie broke his ankle brace, he should have been unable to walk or stand until he got a new one. However, when zombies are coming through the computer screen, he is seen standing, unsupported and without difficulty. How is this possible?

  • QUOTES (18)

    • Atlanta: (sees cake in Jay's hands) I hope there's a killer surprise in there!

      Jay: Yahh-no.

    • Neil: Okay, time to play hero (sees zombies) Ahhhhhh!!

Atlanta: Nice of you to join us Neil!

    • Odie: (says a bunch of techno babble)

Jay: We'll take your way too many technical words for it.

    • Herry: I have to wrestle lions while she gets to play with magic wands and rabbits?

    • (Computer screen beeps with new mail.)

Cronus (reading): 'Happy Halloween, Love Odie.'

    • (Theresa is tied up in ropes and her magic won't work. Neil is holding the torches)

Neil: Oooh let me try! Hocus Pocus, Bippity Boo! (Theresa is released from the ropes)

      Atlanta: ... Get outta town!

    • Jay: Can't you hack into the theatres surveillance cameras or something?

Odie: Jay, your random acts of intelligence amaze me.

    • (Herry, Theresa, Atlanta and Neil are in the movie theatre waiting for the movie to start)

Herry: Ohh man! I forgot about popcorn!

Neil: Oooh can you get me some, no butter? Ohhh and no salt. (turns to Theresa) Can you get popcorn without salt? (turns back to Herry) Better get me a bottled water just in case.

    • Jay: Neil, you take care of Archie.

Archie: No Jay, not him! I'm in enough pain already!

    • Neil: Ok what's the big fuss? This is messing with my beauty sleep. (sees owl on Theresa's shoulder) Way to accesssorize Theresa. (sarcastic)

    • Atlanta: (over PMR) Drop whatever you're doing!

Archie: (takes off apron, looking disgruntled) Gladly!

    • Cronus: Ugh, this is too painful to watch.

    • Odie (when a zombie comes out of his monitor): Why did I have to buy a widescreen monitor?

    • Neil: (when the movie turned black and white) Awww, an art film. Booooring!

    • Cronus: You really are a cheeky little computer nerd, aren't you?

    • (Kid in a halloween costume walks by, scaring Neil and Herry.)

Atlanta: You guys fight mythical monsters, and you're afraid of a kid in a costume!?

Neil: I never really was one for fighting monsters.

Herry: I'm scared of zombies! They're dead! Dead things have germs!

    • Odie: (reading email) 'Happy Halloween: From Cronus'

Hermes: Oh yeah, that's tomorrow isn't it?

Odie: I think we should be a little more worried about how he tracked down your email.

Hermes: Well, "Hermes@MountOlympus" isn't exactly the hardest nut to crack.

    • Hermes: I may be the god of communication, but I've only just learned to drag'n'drop! Go easy on me!

  • NOTES (4)

    • It's strange that Cronus didn't know what nano-seconds were, especially since he's the god of time.

    • Persephone and Hermes are seen playing the game Mouse Trap.

    • Halloween is revealed to be Athena's favorite holiday, as she dresses up for the occasion and even bakes a cake!

    • Originally in the Class of the Titans Bible, as shown on the Directors Blog a while back, Herry's character description mentioned him as being a germaphobe. Overall, this was basically taken out of the storyline but every now and then you get references to that. Such as in this episode, when he says that dead people are gross. Another example is in Little Box Of Horrors.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Hecate;

Goddess of the Underworld. In some legends, she was said to be an aspect of Persephone in her most deadly phase. Normally however she is said to be a cruel deity that is extremely ancient. Torturer of ghosts, she was said to be Mistress of the Furies whose task was to torment those who have disobeyed the gods.

Hecate was also known as the Queen of Roads, because those that died were carried over the city walls and buried along the side of the roads.

Hecate's cult was the longest surviving one out of all the gods, and was adopted by Medieval witch covens as their patroness and was worshipped in their secret rites.
