This is definitely one of my personal favorite episode out of all six. It has a lot of things that are just great. I love video games, so that was a really cool thing to see Randal actual getting a high score. Not that it was the only reason I like the episode, but it is something that definitely caught my interest. Truthfully, my favorite thing on the episode is when Jay and Silent Bob ride the motorcycle at around 2 miles per hour and their faces are against the wind as if they were going 50 miles an hour.moreless

Having a title like "Dante And Randal And Jay And Silent Bob And A Bunch Of New Characters And Lando Take Part In A Whole Bunch Of Movie Parodies Including, But Not Exclusive To, The Bad News Bears, The Last Starfighter, Indiana Jones And the Temple of Doom, Plus A High School Reunion " Can only be a sign that this is a great episode. While watching this epiode, even after the hundreth time it is still soo cool because there is alway something you have not seen before because there is so much hidden things in all the episodes.

This Episode was such a great episode because of one the title is so frickin long. Also it does a shout out so to say of many of my favorite movies. This just goes to reaferm that only nerds and Kevin Smith Fans got this show. Things like that made this "Adult Cartoon" great.

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • If you watch closely, Creepy Guy's teeth vary between perfect and shabby conditions.

    • Despite being mentioned in the episode's title, Lando does not appear in this episode.

    • In retrospect, Kevin Smith said that they should have made this episode the first one to air on ABC because it was the strongest.

    • Originally when Dante was trying to get Jay to play on the little league team there was a montage of scenes of Dante doing complicated mathematical equations and scientific experiments, but in the end (and for time) the writers decided it would be funnier if Dante just simply asked Jay to play for the team.

    • In episode five, the yearbook features a picture of Randal holding a gun to another student's head. The caption underneath reads "best hall monitor".

    • When the evil scientist is removing his lab coat, the tribal uniform beneath is yellow for the first few seconds, until he puts on his hat and the uniform is red like the hat.

    • The name of the real-life New Jersey town featured in the episode (home of the 1998 Little League World Series championship team) is spelled "Toms River," not "Tom's River." (Note the extraneous apostrophe.)

    • Dante keeps trying to put a red hat on the head of the kid with the helmet. But when he goes to tape it on, it's now blue.

    • When Randal is in the control room, his clothes are fine. But when he goes down into the pit, his clothes are torn and ragged, despite not having done any work yet.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Randal: That's why they call me Sexy Randal the pharaoh wizard.
Dante: No one's ever called you that.
      Randal: One guy did.
(Flashback to Randal playing video game. A guy comes up to him)
Guy: Go Sexy Randal The Pharoah Wizard!!
(Guy is then chased by to guys in white, holding huge nets)

    • Anthony: (referring to Jay) There goes the baddest kid in the fourth grade.
Dante: He's not in the fourth grade, he's twenty-six.
Anthony: He got left back . . . a lot.

    • Lesbian: Go, Randal. Go and spread the word of male worthlessness.

    • Leonardo: Remember my story, Plug. I'm suing the government over some bad meat.
Plug: But sir, everyone already knows you're a billionaire industrialist with world domination plans.
Leonardo: Who's suing the government over some bad meat?

    • Anthony: Coach Dante, we're the worst team ever.
Dante: Yes we are, Anthony. Yes we are.

    • Randal: This sucks. (Gets whipped by a slave guard) Ahhh! I stand corrected. That sucks.

    • Dante: What's goin' on?
Randal: Off the top of my head, I'd say these men are in the employ of some super secret federal agency which created Pharaoh as a recuritment device for the ultimate warriors of the digital age.
Federal Agent: Oh you're very good.

  • NOTES (5)

    • The music playing during all the baseball scenes is from the opera "Carmen" by George Bizet.

    • Names of the teams the Escorts play against: Diabetic Bears, Jewish Traveling All-Stars, Handicapable Lady Lions, and the Ex-Slaves.

    • All the pictures in the gym are parody images of the writing staff.

    • Originally scheduled to air on June 21, 2000, but the series was cancelled by ABC. This episode did finally air on December 22, 2002 during a marathon on Comedy Central.

    • Full episode title: Dante And Randal And Jay And Silent Bob And A Bunch Of New Characters And Lando Take Part In A Whole Bunch Of Movie Parodies Including, But Not Exclusive To, The Bad News Bears, The Last Starfighter, Indiana Jones And the Temple of Doom, Plus A High School Reunion

  • ALLUSIONS (7)

    • Grease
Jay: All right, Silent Bob. Let's see what Greased Thunder can do!
"Greased Lightning" was the name of Kenickie's car in the 1978 50s' nostalgia film Grease.

    • Return of the Jedi
Charles Barkley: (After several Jedi refuse to give him five) That's cold Obi-Wan.
This is a funny parody of the final shot in the film Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983).

    • Wild Wild West
The billionaire with the spider legs is a reference to the Will Smith film Wild Wild West (1999).

    • Challenger
When the Class of 1980 is blown up in the rocket, it's a reference to the tragic Challenger disaster.

    • Batman
Dante: (Holding Rope) Why are we walking like this?
Aside from referencing their own show, this is again a parody of Batman.

    • Life Magazine
Yearbook Photo: Randal Graves: Best Hall Monitor
The picture Randal has been cropped into is the famous Cambodian picture when Polpot takes over, and has a reporter shot in the face.

    • Misc. Movies
Instead of pointing out every detail, the show itself put the movies it was making fun of in the title of the episode, which include: The Bad News Bears (1976), The Last Starfighter (1984) and Indiana Jones And the Temple of Doom (1984).
