is that for the supposed animated movie? or is it just another sad attempt for kevin smith to release a ninth edition of the clerks movie.

This is in fact a true sequel to Clerks. It is already done filming. He is already has a rough cut of the movie.

I don't expect much from this outing. Although the animated series boasts an improvement on the acting of both Brian and Jeff, I fear doing another movie is treading over old ground.

9th Edition? So what if they released a 10th Anniversary DVD. This is a full-fledged sequel.

I personally can't wait, I'm way overdue for a Jay and Silent Bob fix.

I know I say this a lot, but I'm guardedly optimistic.

Brian and Jeff didn't star in the cartoon. I'm not sure who played Dante but Randal was played by Jim Brewer who previously starred on SNL. I still think these actors are improving. Kevin Smith has improved on directing from all of those other Jay and Silent Bob movies that he has done.

Actually, Jeff Anderson and Brian O'Halloran DID play Randal and Dante in the cartoon just as they did in the movie. They are credited with the voices on the summary page on this website and they were part of the commentary on the DVDs. I don't know where you got the idea that Jim Breuer did the voice for Randal...

There was an attempt to make a live action clerks sitcom and Jim Breuer was going to be Randal.  Jeff Anderson talks about it on disc 3 of the Clerks 10th anniversary DVD in the deleted scenes.

i saw it last night and i was surprised how good it was. don't get me wrong it clearly wasn't anywhere near the quality of clerks or even mallrats but it was surprisingly good.

I wasn't surprised at how good it was it's freaking "Clerks" for crying out loud. LOL. Man the shot at fanboys talking about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings was hilarious then whole bit with porchmonkey.. It also seems that Jeff's first directorial movie "Now you know" will be coming to DVD this summer.

I agree Clerks 2 was great.

I hate being one of those people who says the sequels better then the original, but the seriousness it has in it.

I know everyone hated Jersey Girl way too much but Smith took like 15 percent of Jersey Girl and 85 percent of all his other movies and made Clerks 2. The fading back to black and white while playing soul asylum's misery was really really cool

Thats my reason for stating its my favorite movie of his so far, however im not looking forward to his next project the horror movie.

Horror movie's arent movies you want to watch again and again and i'm afraid critics are gonna hate it and it'll make him go do mallrats 2 or chasing amy 2 or dogma 2 or another jay and bob movie (but then again, none of those would be bad.)
