  • The Gang gets ready for a PSAT style test. Abe deals with his "sleeping" problem.

    8.6
After the announcement of the PXJT test, Abe offers to help Cleo study, and this really just means being Cleo's errand boy until the test is over. There is not studying that takes place, except when Cleo expects him to read her the prepcourse book while she is asleep. Hilarious.

Ghandi decides that a standardized test is useless and doesn't show anything about the real world. Basically he sucks at taking tests. SO he decides rashly to become a trucker.

Cleo keeps Abe awake. Joan, Ghandi, and Abe meet a trucker who says that sleep should be the most important thing. The episode is kinda wierd. It's funny but not laugh out loud funny, it's more I've been there funny.

We find out why We must use #2 pencils on all standardized tests. Scangrade is feading off the lead, to become powerful enough to take over the world... But why don't they just feed him the pencils themselves?

We get a wonderful robot fight between Mr. B and Scangrade!

More shows need robot fights. The taunt us the whole episode with Joan's big secret, but as always it's something minor. But the build up is funny and mocking of most shows.

Cleo decides to use a race to decide which guy to date. Clearly this is far superior than any other method we've come up with.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (16)

    • JFK:Nothing bad ever happens to the Kennedy's.

Many people believe in the Kennedy Curse. The family has suffered a high amount of improbable tragedy. Two political assasinations, and a plane crash just to name a few.

    • Goof: Joan is never seen taking off her left boot or sock. Her footwear is on when Abe enters his house, and during the course of their conversation, it is removed from her foot.

    • The clock in Scudworth's office is stuck at 12.25 during the entire episode.

    • Goof: When Scudworth opens his office door, Scangrade is blocking the door with his body. A second later, Scangrade has somehow squeezed through the doorway and is in the hall. Given the massiveness of ScanGrade and the regular size of the doorway, this seems improbable.

    • Most of the clones address their foster-parents as foster-parents, not actual parents. Gandhi is the only clone who calls his foster-parents 'Mom' and 'Dad'.

    • Goof: At the beginning of the episode, when Scudworth holds up his left hand, his fist has 5 fingers on it. When his fist is unclenched, it returns to 4 fingers. All of the characters on Clone High have 4 fingers, including Scudworth.

    • Goof: When Abe starts reading to Cleo, he says "Chapter 1". But the book he's holding is surprisingly close to the end of the book, to be chapter one. Also, when she wakes up, it looks like he's still on the same page.

    • Goof: When Cleo is crying at her locker, she throws 2 green books but when she and Abe go to pick them up, there's only 1 red book.

    • Goof: At the beginning of the episode, Genghis Kahn is in the back right corner of the class, right behind Joan. But when Cleo drops her pencil, it looks like Genghis moved into the back left corner.

    • At one point, you see a chalkboard which reads "Tesla Rules". Thomas Edison had the marketing machine, but Nikola Tesla had the big ideas about electricity that shaped the 20th century.

    • The fight scene between Mr. B and the testbot is a parody of Battle Bots.

    • For the second time, hints are given that Gandhi's family is Jewish.

    • It appears that the show is set in the city/town of Exclamation!, USA.

    • During the race, when Abe slows down to go to sleep, the odometer reads 414186.5. This is the date president lincoln was shot......April 14, 1865.

    • Goof: Both of Abe's hands are up in the air when he restarts his car after waking up.

    • Abe reads the value of pi incorrectly, saying "3.141592659589793" instead of "3.141592653589793...". He also seems to stop definitively whereas pi is an irrational number.

  • QUOTES (13)

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Grease
The start of the drag race is likely a tribute to the 1978 movie "Grease", where there is a similar drag race scene, right down to the neckerchief Cleo is wearing.

    • Gandhi: Abe, remember how I was so excited about seeing the movie American Pie that I couldn't sleep the night before? And remember that scene where the guy has sex with the pie? Well, I don't. Because I fell asleep in the theater.

American Pie is a popular teen movie released by Universal and directed by the Weitz brothers. The plot consisted of four male high school seniors who make a make a pact to lose their virginities by prom night. To prepare for sex, the main character (played by Jason Biggs) "has sex" with a "warm apple pie," what third base is said to feel like by this character's friend.

    • Fight Club

The montage at the end of the episode where Gandhi remembers his times with the imaginary "creepy trucker" is likely a tribute to a similar montage in the movie Fight Club or the Sixth Sense.

    • Scangrade: You can't fill in two ovals! NOOOO!!!! (explodes)

Scangrade is destroyed when Mr. Bultertron asks him a multiple choice question that in Scangrade's mind has two answers, this causes a logic error in him and he explodes. This is a spoof of Nomad from the old Star Trek series, a probe gone horribly ary that was bent on sterilizing anything that was imperfect; with itself being the only perfect thing. Capt. Kirk fools Nomad in the same way by arguing that Nomad is imperfect and that he must destroy himself; this creates a logic error and Nomad eventually self-destructs.
