This was a really sad episode and I didn't see that ending coming. When I saw it I busted out with tears and kept hopeing that Jack was still alive. Thats how I found this site I was trying to find out about Jack on a search thing and I got to this website. It also got me into Ghost Whisperer because it was on right before it and everytime I saw Close to Home I would cry. So sorry I was totally of subject. Back to the subject, I also liked the case it was a reallt good case. This was a very emotional episode and I will never forget it.
I love this show so much. One of the things i loved about this show is the fact the main character had a normal family, unlike all the other tv shows. A good husband and a cute little baby. Why kill the husband??? WHY? I won't stop watching and i'm not gonna like it less either but it's such a shame. I actually cried a little. I loved the rest of the episode though.
I love this show, one of the things I love the most is the whole small town feeling about it. That she has a loving home and a new baby, a regular life outside of her job. I think the whole show will lose that warm feel now. Why does every show find it necesarry to kill off a main character on the season finale. Come up with a new one people. Keep the cast alive!!!
Oh My Goooood! Not Jack - it can't be! Annabeth's desolation at the loss of her beloved Jack was heart wrenching. The rest of the episode was, as usual, very good as well. It is amazing the things kids are learning to do on the internet. Nothing would really surprise me anymore.
This phrase means that this episode concludes the first season attempting to get viewers back on the next one. Ang giving the alussion that this is what the show is all about: learning, investigating, dealing, and making justice. As the lead carachter Anabette tried over season one to balance her personal life and professional, she might not have so much attention to direct on next one, as it gets obvious on the end, considering the death of her husband.
If that was a pilot, it would be clear, what it is coming. And viewers knows what to expect.
This episode was one of the best that this show has ever made. Annabeth is battling against teenage pornographers while trying to regain her footing after losing her first big case. She and her husband are planning on getting away, just the two of them, to relax and rejuvinate themselves after having the baby.
Annabeth is finally happy with the job that she did on the case and was excited about taking a trip with her husband when her boss enter the room and tells her that there has been an accident.
The relationship between Annabeth and Jack is the type of relationship that I want with my significant other. They had a beautiful baby girl and a great life, and now Annabeth is ;eft to raise that little girl all by herself!
I was so shocked at the end of the episode. It was SO random. But still good. Although, it was weird when they sort of summed up the case in 30 seconds. But then I knew it was Jack as soon as Annabeth's boss walked in. Because everyone else was in that room. I cried though when Annabeth was holding Jack's dead hand and crying. This was an awesome season finale. I can't wait until next season to see Annabeth coupe with the loss of her husband. If you haven't figured it out yet, Jack, her husband, died. I'm definately watching next season and will incourage others to do so also.
The case centered on teenagers involved crimes which are (should be?) far beyond their years. Very timely and relevant, though. Interesting on how it got more and more involved.
Relationship with her husband very believable, showing stresse
I can\\\'t believe that they killed off her husband. What is that all about? The rest of the show is now meaningless. There are too many shows on TV with dysfunctional families, single parents etc. What is wrong with one that has a somewhat traditional couple with child, where they have their lives, careers, stresses, reconciliations? Let\\\'s hope the writers of Medium do not succomb to this idiocy. They are another tradtional family I enjoy watching. I can imagine the plots for Close to Home next season (I\\\'ll guess, since I won\\\'t watch anymore.) Bets on her being the prosecutor for the drunk driver? I am sure that\\\'ll give them a number of show plots!
A completely unexpected Season Finale...at least the last two minutes of it! Our young Annabeth finds herself trying to get to the bottom of a teenage get-rich-quick scheme which involves underage girls, webcams, and dirty old men.
This episode really surprised me. I thought this series had successfully shown, thus far, how Annabeth balances her life as a blossoming prosecutor with life as a new mom and wife. Though the relationship between Jack and Annabeth sometimes made me want to vomit in my mouth with its contrived, syrupy lovey-doveyness, I really liked that aspect of the show. Well, maybe I did not always "like" it, but it did not bother me enough to make me turn the channel. How's that?
So, Annabeth is pursuing her case and she and Jack decide to go on vacation. How cute, how sweet, how do they keep a straight face during these interchanges where the sugary dialogue is enough to make me long for him to have an affair so she can be mad at him...for once.
The case ends. Annabeth wins. Sort of. And then out of frickin' nowhere, Jack is DEAD! Talk about one coming out of left field. I have no idea what the writers were thinking when they decided to kill off a pivotal character at the end of the first season!!! It was painful to watch, and it really ticked me off, quite frankly.
I think I know what is coming next. By the third episode next season, she'll be going out for a martini with that white-haired defense attorney she has been bickering with all season long. By the middle of the season, they'll be strange bedfellows...
Ok, when i watched the last episode, i cried. I can\'t believe what happened! But I\'m not really sure, I thougth that they showed him in a hospital bed, not at the morgue. Did Jack die or is he really hurt or something? I wasn\'t really sure what happened. I read the other reviews and they said he died so that stinks. In Ghost Whisperers they kill off Andrea which made me cry and now they\'re killing off Jack in Close To Home. What\'s the point of the show now! This is supposed to be about someone who has to jugle their job and family life! What\'s the point, now it\'s just another law show. I think it was an extremly stupid decision on the writers pert. I doubt it will get as many viewers next year as this year becasue now it\'s just another boring law show. What\'s going to happen next year! I can\'t believe this happened!

****WARNING****
The finale for CSI was a shock, and not in a good way. I felt that show came up with something to get the fans talking, but in the end came off as too dependent of something different to get a pop, so to speak.
This show, well this episode, was no different. It was going along great. Tension was growing at home and at work, and the previos episode had alot to do with it. The case was good and had me second guessing myself, but was then rushed and it was over before I knew it. I said ok and felt satisfied with the way this show has grown, but it wasn't over yet as there was 10 minutes left.
Not only was this case rushed, which by no means is a bad thing, but they decided to involve a car accident with Annabeths husband. Why is this happening now? For one the show just started and two, the rating were ok, no? This was my biggest beef against this episode and may affect future episodes. Now we'll have to deal with his death affecting her work and relationship with her child, along side her work affecting her time with her child. Too much too soon. This should have been saved for future finales, not the first.
I gave it 6, but only to be fair as it is still a young show and things may change, but as for now I felt that the finale didn't need something so dramatic.
Great show but why kill off the husband? I thought this was a show about a woman trying to balance a very demanding career and a family. Granted she has a baby but now she has lost the husband and given the fact that they only showed the family for a few minutes each episode I think it changes the whole concept of the show. Christian Kane is a great actor, having seen him on Angel and Into the West. I think they could have expanded this story line alot more then they did.
