A recently paroled sex offender who moves into Annabeth's neighborhood becomes the prime suspect in the rape of a young woman.

Although the victim identifies the paroled rapist as the man who attacked her, Annabeth is doubtful that she can convince a jury of his guilt because the behavior he exhibited is different from his usual M.O. Meanwhile, Maureen tells Steve that they should ease up on Annabeth's work load.moreless

I knew Brian Ford was innocent.
I knew that Mr Wheeler would go into a fit of rage and point a gun at Mr Ford....so predictable

I would have liked to see a little more dialogue between Maureen and Annabeth, and the concern she has about her lack of sleep and heavy case load....so, I'm hoping that the issue will resurface later in the season.

Though it was a very predictable episode overall, it still enjoyable.moreless
  • Predictable Episode that is full of cliches.

This is a story that has been done many times before on other crime dramas. A young woman is raped, and everyone assumes it is the registered sex offender that lives nearby. Among the believers is Annabeth Chase who centers on this man as her prime suspect. Throw into the mix a group of vigilantes who trash the parolled rapists house and burn his car. One of the neighbors seems overly intent on having this guy put back behind bars, and we learn that his 14 year old daughter was kidnapped, raped and murdered a couple of years ago. He offers Annabeth his stack of surveilance materials, but rather than confirm her suspicions of the suspect, they actually make her doubt his guilt, as it shows the guy spends most of his time home watching tv with his mother. The rape victim does identify this guy as her rapist, but Annabeth believes she did so after seeing the posters of the suspect that the vigilantes had posted all over their neighborhood. Of coarse, this guy turns out NOT to be the real rapist, the real crimial is eventually caught, and there is also a "tense" moment toward the end of the episode where the father of the murdered 14 year old girl pulls a gun on the falsley accused guy, but Annabeth talks him into putting down his gun. When the actual rapist is arrested, Annabeth assures the victim that she can sleep in peace at night. Yawn...I was about to fall asleep while watching this one.

This was a very predictable episode with no twists or suprises.moreless
