  • Two families living in close proximity always brings with it quite a few problems. Those who reside at Number 1 Cloudstreet, certainly know all about that.

    7.0
The book upon which this series is based is now required reading on Australia's National School Curriculum. Set in the two decades between 1943 and 1963, it tells the story of two familes who find themselves living ay Number 1 Cloudstreet.

Their lives are, at times, confusing and full of sadness and the storyline can be very difficult to follow, particularly at the beginning, unless you watch very closely, but what does shine through at all times are the excellent performances by the actors involved, most particularly the multi-talented Stephen Curry and the wonderful Essie Davis.

Filmed against the backdrop of the beauty of Western Australia, where the novel was set, this series is a "must see" for all those who enjoy a good story interwoven with a large slice of Australia's history.moreless
