Episode Summary

Gretchen Wilson
"You think you know, but you have no idea ..." is the familiar refrain echoed by some of country's biggest stars in CMT Diary, an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the moments where the script ends and real life begins, from artists' homes and personal lives to their experiences on the road. Gretchen Wilson introduces her entire redneck family she employs to take care of her sprawling Nashville ranch while she's on tour, then travels to a small-town bar where she plays an impromptu show for an unsuspecting crowd. Wilson also fulfills one of her lifelong dreams as this self-taught woman, who never finished high school, enrolls to get her GED. Wilson exploded onto the national scene three years ago with her smash hit, "Redneck Woman." That year, she took home many awards including the prestigious CMA Horizon Award, two CMT Music Awards, top vocalist and best new artist ACM awards and the Grammy for best country female vocalist. Wilson has since racked up combined album sales of well over 6 million units with her debut album, Here for the Party, and the follow-up, All Jacked Up. Her third Columbia Nashville album, One of the Boys, hit stores May 15, 2007.moreless
