Numbuh 5/Delightful Child From Down the Lane #5
Numbuh 1/Numbuh 2
Mushi Sanban (Live Action)
Betty Gilligan/Mrs. Gilligan
Mrs. Sanban told Numbuh 2 she was powdering her nose when the lights went off, but how could she do that in the dark?
For some reason, the KND are the only students in the cafeteria (although this may not be a real goof - Stuffum may have set a trap specifically for them).
Mrs. Gilligan's voice doesn't sound at all like it did in Operation: T.O.M.M.Y.
Tommy can build giant war machines and spaceships (as seen in T.O.M.M.Y. and E.N.D.) but he can't install decent light fixtures?
Grandma Stuffum (rapping): Slamwich comes! And he must eat!/ He's made of cheese and PUPPY FEET!
Numbuh 2: I know you didn't do it. The real culprit is Mushi.
Mushi: You're kidding, right?
Numbuh 2: I NEVER kid. Sure, sometimes I say really cool jokes and puns and stuff, but never kid.
Numbuh 2: Mrs. Sanban. you were jealous of your girls' dolly.
Mrs. Sanban: I bought that doll for my daughters. It's theirs to do with as they please. But did anyone offer me a turn with it. Noooooooo. Not even a a little bitty huggy wuggy. But I didn't do it. I was powdering my nose.
Tommy: I eat alone. For I am...The Tommy!
Grandma Gilligan: GET DOWN HERE NOW!
Grandma Gilligan: What am I craving? A man with a job. Ha ha ha! I crack myself up...
Mrs. Sanban: (To Numbuh 2) I don't remember your mother saying what KIND of stuffing it was.
Numbuh 2: Well.. heh, heh...
Grandma Gilligan: YOU ATE MY TURKEY YOU LITTLE SHIRLOCK HOLMES! TAKE THIS! (Starts hitting Hoagie with her cane)
Numbuh 2: OW! OW! OW! OW!
Grandma Stuffum: (Cheerfully) See you tomorrow children! We're having scream of spinach!
(Someone hits her with a chicken leg)
Numbuh 4: Get a new cookbook, lady...
Numbuh 2: That's enough! Somebody here is guilty of Rainbow Monkey murder! And no-one is leaving...
(He hits a switch and the exits seal)
Numbuh 2: ... until I discover who it is!
(Everyone looks at each other)
Numbuh 3: Well don't look at me! I didn't do it!
Numbuh 2: Or did you?!
(Numbuh 3 looks at him with her "evil face")
Numbuh 2: (Scared) Heh, heh... right... sorry...
Family Member Debuts: Betty Gilligan (Numbuh 2 and Tommy's mom. Technically, this is her second appearance, but we only saw the lower half of her body in TOMMY; here, we see her whole body, and she also sounds nothing like in TOMMY), Kani and Genki Sanban (Numbuh 3 and Mushi's mom and dad.)
Operation: F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E. is a team episode.
Operation: C.L.U.E.S. is a Numbuh 2 and 3 episode.
This episode marks that Numbuh2 has now appeared with one other KND core member in an episode without any other member:
Numbuh Two also appears in more episodes like these, but these are the first ones to be marked.
The name of the giant super-hamster in F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E is Joaquin.
The following are the translations for the entire Sanban family:
-The surname of "Sanban" itself is a reference to Numbuh 3 because in Japanese "san-ban" means "3rd number."
-"Kani" in Japanese means "crab" and is maybe implying that Kuki's father is "crabby" because he was very quick to get angry and tended to be on the belligerent side.
-"Genki" in Japanese means "Spirited, robust, healthy" which could imply that Kuki's mother is a strong, spirited women who knows who she is and what she wants.
-"Kuki," depending on which Kanji is used, means either "stalk" or "trouble, crisis, or predicament." I'm leaning more towards it meaning "trouble" since she is usually the one to get into a "crisis or predicament" first. After all, she is the distraction of the group.
-"Mushi" seems to be the hardest to decipher seeing as how her name could mean many things. A few being selfless; unselfish, an insect, or disregard; ignore. She has been known to display several of these traits and she may have been intended to be one or all of these things. Mushi has been selfless when thinking about her sister before her own safety, she has been ignored by the other KND agents, and she has been known to be quite the pest.
Numbuhs 1, 4, and 5 were not featured in "Operation C.L.U.E.S."
Mushi is starting to show signs of King Sandy's personality, the result of their relationship.
Villians: Grandma Stuffum, Mushi.
F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E. is the first musical episode. While T.H.E.-F.L.Y. was just music, musicals have singing and little talking and this episode was filled with singing and just a little talking.
It seems as though Numbuh 2's family all have their eyes covered. Numbuh 2 and [The] Tommy are wearing goggles while their mom and grandma have glasses.
F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E. stands for Fiendish Old Ogre's Disgusting Food Is Thrown Everywhere; C.L.U.E.S. stands for Cutlery's Location Uncovers Elementary Solution.
Now Numbuh's 1, 2,& 3's parent's faces have been shown. Soon perhaps Numbuhs 4 & 5's will too.
They showed a live-action clip in this episode.
Mushi is evil and selfish in this episode.
Genkei is the Japanese word for "fine" or "good".
Judging by the day that they aired and the fact that both episodes revolve around food and dinners, it's possible that these are KND Thanksgiving episodes.
Operation F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E. was more of a music episode (notice Grandma Stuffum sings all but one of her lines).
Numbuh 3's mom is named Genkei. Numbuh 3's dad's name is Kani. Numbuh 2's mom is named Betty. (What happened to his father?)
After the first round with Stuffum, Numbuh 4 comments that she "usually makes [them] eat much more than that." Obviously, the team has encountered her several times between "Operation: N.O.-P.O.W.U.H." and this episode.
This is the first time Grandma Stuffum has appeared in a non-cameo role since Season 1.
It seems Numbuh 2 finally perfected the hamster project he was working on in "Operation K.I.S.S."
Numbuh 3's mom is Numbuh 2's mom's boss. When you factor the fact that 3's mom and 4's dad work in the same company, that's three members of the core team who have a parental connection, career-wise.
First appearance of Kuki's parents; first full appearance of Hoagie and Tommy's mother.
Credits: Grandma [Gilligan] grumbling and looking for something else to eat.
So far with this episode, we now have an updated version of the KND operatives' families:
Numbuh 1 - Dad (Mr. Uno), Mom, only child
Numbuh 2 - Mom (Betty), little brother (Tommy), Grandma, and no dad?
Numbuh 3 - Dad (Mr. Kani Sanban), Mom (Mrs. Genkei Sanban), little sister (Mushi), and a future granddaughter (Sally Sanban)
Numbuh 4 - Dad (Mr. Beatles), Mom (Mrs. Beatles), and a baby brother (Joey)
Numbuh 5 - Dad (Dr. Lincoln), a big sister (Cree), and no mom?
Before Stuffum attacks, Numbuh 3 seems to be the only member of the team who isn't scared (although this changes once the action starts).
Tommy: I am the Tommy
When he said that upstairs
lighting and he covered himself with his cape is just like batman in the animated seires, "The Batman"
Tommy: I was hungry and I was thirsty!
The scene where Hoagie is interrogating Tommy, and Tommy keeps saying "I was hungry." and after a slap, "I was thirsty." Until finally he said, "I was hungry AND I was thirsty!" is a reference to a famous (and disturbing) scene from the Jack Nicholson film Chinatown. I will not post the actual scene here, but I will provide the url for MovieTome.
Numbuh 3: Well don't look at me! I didn't do it!
That was said by Mr. Green over and over again in the movie Clue. Clue was based on a board game, and it is where 6 dinner guests and a butler try to find out who killed Mr. Boddy.
Grandma Stuffum: Songs
All of the songs sang by Grandma Stuffum were rewrites of songs sung by the band GWAR, a very adult band, from their album America Must be Destroyed. Specifically the song Gor-Gor Also, the first song she sings is The Private Pain of techno Destructo from their album Carnival of Chaos
Numbuh 2's Grandma: Sherlock Holmes
Numbuh 2's Grandmother mentions how Numbuh 2 acted like Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a famous literature detective.
