The following are the translations for the entire Sanban family:
-The surname of "Sanban" itself is a reference to Numbuh 3 because in Japanese "san-ban" means "3rd number."
-"Kani" in Japanese means "crab" and is maybe implying that Kuki's father is "crabby" because he was very quick to get angry and tended to be on the belligerent side.
-"Genki" in Japanese means "Spirited, robust, healthy" which could imply that Kuki's mother is a strong, spirited women who knows who she is and what she wants.
-"Kuki," depending on which Kanji is used, means either "stalk" or "trouble, crisis, or predicament." I'm leaning more towards it meaning "trouble" since she is usually the one to get into a "crisis or predicament" first. After all, she is the distraction of the group.
-"Mushi" seems to be the hardest to decipher seeing as how her name could mean many things. A few being selfless; unselfish, an insect, or disregard; ignore. She has been known to display several of these traits and she may have been intended to be one or all of these things. Mushi has been selfless when thinking about her sister before her own safety, she has been ignored by the other KND agents, and she has been known to be quite the pest.
