Episode Summary

EDIT
Operation: G.H.O.S.T. / Operation: F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.
AIRED:
Operation: G.H.O.S.T.: It's a sad day at the treehouse, when Chubbo, one of the KND's power-providing hamsters passes away; and it is saddest for the overly sensitive Numbuh 3, who even maintains a vigil at his grave until the weather proves inclement. But unwise is the one who mourns too long for the dead, because during the dark and stormy night, a gang of ghostly hamster arrive, and drag the terrified Numbuh 3 to the hamster afterlife! Now the team must penetrate the very netherworld to rescue their friend, but can even the KND overcome a mob of restless rodents?! Operation F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.: An operative has apparently reached his thirteenth birthday, and is scheduled for decommission; but on route to the Moonbase, the transport ship carrying him is shanghaied and forced to land. When the local KND arrive on the scene, they now must work with Decommission Officer Numbuh 86, a boy-hating brat with a bad attitude! And when the fugitive flees to the Delightful Children's mansion, the team must decide who is the bigger threat; their arch-enemies, or this obnoxious superior officer! The answer may not be as clear-cut as it seems.moreless

  • Operation G.H.O.S.T. - Chubbo dies and after a very long funeral service for him. Numbuh 3 discovers hamster ghosts in the treehouse. Operation F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.- Numbuh 206 escapes from decommisioning and Numbuh 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 clash with Nmoreless

    8.0
Operation G.H.O.S.T. - This episode was a teensy bit creepy, but overall the better one of the two shown in this show. The hamster ghosts were pretty cute and it had some funny moments. Like the whole "Maybe I'll Stay//No, I Have to Go" sequence in hamster heaven. Personally I found the soda thing unfunny and annoying though. Overall a pretty decent episode I shall give it an 8.5.

Operation F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.- Numbuh 86 is really annoying in this episode and you cheer at the ending. The whole episode is sort - of hard to understand. The saving grace of the episode is the whole dandelion thing, where Numbuh 4 has to take the dandelion with him just so he can follow through with the order. Overall it was just an O.K. episode, so I will give it a 7.5.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In G.H.O.S.T., Chubbo's funeral could easily pass as Numbuh 4's. Examples are:

      * When the operatives are all standing by Chubbo's grave, Numbuh 4 is not there.
      * Numbuh 3 mentions Chubbo as being "the smallest one of us" (Numbuh 4 is the shortest).
      * Numbuh 3 mentions that he could "still see him scampering around the treehouse acting like he was all big & tough."

    • Numbuh 4's soda machine which is knocked onto the giant ghost of Chubbo says "Dolt". This is an obvious parody of the brand Jolt Cola.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Numbuh 274: (to Numbuh 58) That's affirmative, Numbuh 58. Welcome to Moonbase.

    • Numbuh 274: Uh, Numbuh 86?
      Numbuh 86: What?!
Numbuh 274: Uh. (points out to Numbuh 206, revealing to be Numbuh 362)

    • Numbuh 3: Oh, Chubbo! It's so good to see you again. I could stay here forever!
      Hamsters: (all cheering) Yay!
Numbuh 3: (saying quickly) Too bad I can't. (hamsters glare at her) I mean - It would be so much fun to stay with you guys...
      Hamsters: (rejoicing) Yay!
Numbuh 3: (shaking her head) But I really have to go. (hamsters growl) Then again...
      Hamsters: Yay!
      Numbuh 3: Gotta go!
      (hamsters growl)

    • Numbuh 86: Of all the stupid things done by stupid people in the history of stupidity, you have got to be some of the STUPIDEST-

    • Numbuh 86: Of all the stupid things in the stupid world of stupid people acting stupid, you boys are the stupidliest! It's like you're trying to win a stupid contest but you're too stupid to take a stupidity test!

    • Numbuh 1 (sarcastically): Go ahead. Put on sunblock. Let's soak up some rays. Oh, hey, I've got an idea. Let's completely forget about investigating this stupid crash, and go frolicking in the ocean instead. WHOOOOOO! Maybe afterwards, we can go AND get some delicious funnel cakes and pizzas on the boardwalk.
Numbuh 86: WHAT!?!? Funnel cakes and pizzas!?
      Numbuh 1 (whimpering): N-no 86, no-no, sir, I mean ma'am, sir. I-I-I...

    • Numbuh 3 (seeing a ghost hamster running on a wheel): W-What are you still doing up? We have enough reserve power for the night.

  • NOTES (11)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Numbuh 86 may be an homage to Maxwell Smart a.k.a. Agent 86 who was portrayed by Don Adams in the comedy spy series Get Smart which ran from 1965-70.

    • It seems that they've tried to continue with the numbuhs being ironic: Numbuh 86 is, as Numbuh One mentions, head of decomissioning KND who turn 13, and to eighty-six something means to get rid of it.
