beautifully written and directed tour de force; it's as good a dramatic episode as you'll ever find on american television - and easily one of the top 2-3 episodes ever on Cold Case. I would also disagree with the person who insists that Chris led a blase and untroubled life after the death of his great love: the guy, by 2004, was in his early 40s, unmarried, prematurely greying, stuck in a menial construction job, and evidently had no children; it is plain to me that he bears very deep psychic scars that will last with him for the rest of his life. It's amazing what a few minutes in time - and an abusive parent - can do.

Highlight below for a spoiler: Nitpick: Blood tests back in 1979 (and certainly in 2004) could have revealed that the blood is not from a female victim. While it can be questioned whether Daniela had the usual male XY chromosomes or more unusual combinations of more than two chromosomes, s/he would have definitely had a Y chromosome, revealing that the victim was not a woman.
