Lilly and Valens reopen a presumed homicide from 1979 in which an unidentified victim's blood-drenched shoes, underwear and sheets were found in a trash bag, but no body. The investigation begins when a battered wife accuses her husband of murdering a girl in 1979 and brings in an amateur film from the time that supposedly shows him committing the crime.moreless
  • all-time great episode

    9.0
    "Superb"
beautifully written and directed tour de force; it's as good a dramatic episode as you'll ever find on american television - and easily one of the top 2-3 episodes ever on Cold Case. I would also disagree with the person who insists that Chris led a blase and untroubled life after the death of his great love: the guy, by 2004, was in his early 40s, unmarried, prematurely greying, stuck in a menial construction job, and evidently had no children; it is plain to me that he bears very deep psychic scars that will last with him for the rest of his life. It's amazing what a few minutes in time - and an abusive parent - can do.

Classic episode I would recommend to anyone.moreless
  • Exactly why I love Cold Case

    "Perfect"
This episode and the true story that was revealed, this is exactly the reason why I love Cold Case so much. I've watched this episode over ten times - each time, ending in tears. The song "Goodbye Girl" (I think it's by David Gates not Bread but anyway) fit the story ending so well that I even downloaded it right after I saw the episode. The social background during the era of the case that leads to the case/crime is always depicted well, and how it leads to the tragedy, which is so heart-wrenching. The music is also so appropriate. If this show was ever released on DVD, I'd buy it, definitely. Meanwhile, I will continue to diligently record the broadcasts here in Japan. I really love this show.moreless

I thank TV.com for not only listing the actors in the show but for also listing the songs that were aired in the show. It is hard pressed to find exactly what you are looking for sometimes but you guys nailed it for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you again for making my search productive.
  • This episode is about two teens making a make believe snuff film and it turns into a tragic love story.

    "Superb"
This is my favorite episode out of the WHOLE series. It shows what can happen when you struggle to find yourself & when you do, people won't embrace you for who you are. I weep for the people in the world who have to deal with this.

Chris and Daniela were a match made in heaven. Its just two things wrong: she was born biologically male & Latin and Chris's dad is the biggest BIGOT ever. You can't help who you love. Like older Chris says, you only get one chance & after that, you never get it again, if you let it pass you by.

It's sad that in the land of the free, home of the brave, we, as people, can't accept others for who they really are. It always comes down to their own ignorance. At least Daniela can be free to be whomever she wants in heaven.moreless
  • I think the word "sorrowful" says it all.

I hardly ever watch television. Sometimes, when I arrive home I just turn the TV on to listen to the news, but nothing else. A couple of days ago I spent the whole day home, watching the tv and I caught Cold Case episode "Daniela" on a german channel (RTL).
What should I say...? I was intrigued by the atmosphere, the music, the setting and the way how all these things related to the simple, but hearty and shocking storyline. The way how all these things made the story so sad and authentic blew me away.
Somehow...it hurts in the chest when I think about this episode...I dunno why...
Maybe I'm too sentimental...but I don't think I could live such an untroubled life as the guy did after the suicide of Daniela...moreless
