  • all-time great episode

beautifully written and directed tour de force; it's as good a dramatic episode as you'll ever find on american television - and easily one of the top 2-3 episodes ever on Cold Case. I would also disagree with the person who insists that Chris led a blase and untroubled life after the death of his great love: the guy, by 2004, was in his early 40s, unmarried, prematurely greying, stuck in a menial construction job, and evidently had no children; it is plain to me that he bears very deep psychic scars that will last with him for the rest of his life. It's amazing what a few minutes in time - and an abusive parent - can do.

Classic episode I would recommend to anyone.
  • Exactly why I love Cold Case

This episode and the true story that was revealed, this is exactly the reason why I love Cold Case so much. I've watched this episode over ten times - each time, ending in tears. The song "Goodbye Girl" (I think it's by David Gates not Bread but anyway) fit the story ending so well that I even downloaded it right after I saw the episode. The social background during the era of the case that leads to the case/crime is always depicted well, and how it leads to the tragedy, which is so heart-wrenching. The music is also so appropriate. If this show was ever released on DVD, I'd buy it, definitely. Meanwhile, I will continue to diligently record the broadcasts here in Japan. I really love this show.
  • This is a basic hoorah for this web site TV.com. All I was looking for was one of the songs in the show. I thank TV.com for having the songs listed on the episode. This is a great site. Thank you again for having exactly what I was looking for.

I thank TV.com for not only listing the actors in the show but for also listing the songs that were aired in the show. It is hard pressed to find exactly what you are looking for sometimes but you guys nailed it for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you again for making my search productive.
  • This episode is about two teens making a make believe snuff film and it turns into a tragic love story.

This is my favorite episode out of the WHOLE series. It shows what can happen when you struggle to find yourself & when you do, people won't embrace you for who you are. I weep for the people in the world who have to deal with this.

Chris and Daniela were a match made in heaven. Its just two things wrong: she was born biologically male & Latin and Chris's dad is the biggest BIGOT ever. You can't help who you love. Like older Chris says, you only get one chance & after that, you never get it again, if you let it pass you by.

It's sad that in the land of the free, home of the brave, we, as people, can't accept others for who they really are. It always comes down to their own ignorance. At least Daniela can be free to be whomever she wants in heaven.
  • I think the word "sorrowful" says it all.

I hardly ever watch television. Sometimes, when I arrive home I just turn the TV on to listen to the news, but nothing else. A couple of days ago I spent the whole day home, watching the tv and I caught Cold Case episode "Daniela" on a german channel (RTL).

What should I say...? I was intrigued by the atmosphere, the music, the setting and the way how all these things related to the simple, but hearty and shocking storyline. The way how all these things made the story so sad and authentic blew me away.

Somehow...it hurts in the chest when I think about this episode...I dunno why...

Maybe I'm too sentimental...but I don't think I could live such an untroubled life as the guy did after the suicide of Daniela...
  • Two teens make an impromptu mock snuff film with a girl, & the camera boy becomes involved with her after coming back to apologize. She has a secret which he can accept, but his father can't. Bigotry leads to tragedy in this tearjerker of an episode.

I never watch this show, but I had nothing better to do this past evening at midnight, so I decided to "waste my time" watching an episode. I'm glad I did. Though there were a few OBVIOUS forensic hiccups, this episode was quite unpredictable and exceptionally poignant. I think the topic of gender identity was handled, for the most part, with respect. The bigotry against the transgendered was also handled in a realistic way, and the effects of such hatred was displayed quite vividly in the tragic ending. I have to admit, I cried. I really did. This was a touching episode which shows that love truly knows no bounds, and that discrimination can turn hope into hopelessness. An important lesson for everyone to learn.
  • Cold Case episode called Daniela where they are dealing with a case from 1979 where a girl was murdered the show pulls you in with its intrigue of plot twists and throughout the episode a feeling of love and friendship that somehow goes wrong.

I seen the other review of this episode and had to say something for the show. Because the person who reviewed it was just looking for the song from the show. My review may not be the best but I might do the show Daniela a little more justice.

I was turning channels one night and come across a show coming on called Daniela, wasn't sure what I was watching but was intrigued. I wanted to say something about this episode because it touched both my daughter and I to tears, it broke our hearts about this girls murder. I know its a show but to think if this actually happened...and I am not sure if their shows are based on actual crimes or not. I wanted to tell people so they would watch this show if not this episode, because its the only one I have seen..

It is like an award winning movie all in one hour there were some plot twists and turns just when you think you have an idea who you think could have murdered this young girl it all changes. Then I won't ruin it because the ending is unexpected, plus a romantic soft touch of something unexpected happens as well..which is something you don't see coming either so I won't ruin that either but the people who have watched the show know what I am talking about. This show gives you all of this in one hour! Not seeing the other episodes..Which I am glad to see this show is still on the air, because I am sure the other episodes are probably just as good and if they are better I am probably going to need extra boxes of tissues.

I didn't want to say a lot without giving it all away and it has been a while since I seen this but it still stands out as one of the best shows I have seen. So I know that gave a lot of runaround but it is well worth watching to see what I am actually talking about on here. Thank you for your time I hope you enjoy Cold Case Daniela or any episode of this series. I hope it has got some awards.
