I was not really holding my breath over the idea that Cold Case might get cancelled.

However after watching the last two episodes of the season I'm glad CBS didn't.
The investigation was great, so was the music and oh my God, what a twist!

I felt like I was watching the Sixth Sense.
I seriously didn't see it coming, the fact that Lilly is still in the water the whole episode. It's good that after 6 seasons the writers can still surprise us. I just wish it were more regular. Because the first half of the season was kind of lame.

We need to see more of their personal lives.
The writers get another shot, they'd better not waste it!moreless
  • The season finale two-part episode centered around the first woman to enter a military academy with all the resentments & prejudices surrounding her entry. Lily was the first female detective & could not help but reflect on her experiences.moreless

This was absolutely fantastic! All of the characters were exceptional. Lily totally outdid herself in this two-part episode, showing her weaknesses and fralities along with her obvious strengths. The suspense was maintained until the very end by all of the twists and turns with the possible killers and possible motives. This season has been excellent, but the best was definitely saved for last. I can't wait for the new season to begin. AWESOME JOB!!! Thank you so much for this level of quality--in subject matter, story, cast, acting, and overall presentation. Please keep up the great work.moreless
  • Save Cold Case.

I like having the season finally broken up and I think the writing showed it. Lil surviving her dip in the pond but predictability states she's not as fine as she states she is and Lil pushes herself to the brink of being detrimental to her health. I liked the fact we're shown glimpses into Lil's past as well as her relationship with her father, past and present. The similarities between Kate and Lil still parallel and both are and were tough as nails. I liked the twist that Gardner was murdered and not suicide. So we are now looking for the murder of Gardner and Butler. The revelation that Ryan Stewart buckles under the pressure and lashes out at Kate but the twist that Kitchener helped was interesting. I thought it was really creative in the final scenes where things were pieced together for both Kate and Lil.moreless
  • season finale for CC!!!!

I liked the storyline about cadet Butler! Both two episodes were well writen and the music was excellent! Kathryn Moris was great!

I like that it was a paraller story to Lilly's life!
Both had to fight hard to be accepted, Butler to the academy and Rush to Phillys homoside and to strugle for their fathers love!
It was great to see how much c. Stillman helped Lily! The flashback when Lily was attacked was breathtaking, almost cried! I think he was the real father for Lilly! I really loved the end. The moment when the room started to flood and Lily loosing it was shocking only to see dragging her out of the car and the story to be solved over again!
Nice to see her father by her side, nice change.

I could write hours about the forces and how women mistreated by men, going the world centuries back, but i'll pass.moreless
  • The sixth season ends with the conclusion of the two part season finale. After escaping an attempt on her life (or did she?) Lilly dedicates herself to solving the 2005 murder of military cadet Kate Butler.moreless

Well, it has been said over and over that you will see you life flash before your eyes when you are near death. I don't know if that is true, but it makes for good entertainment. Both parts of this episode were very well written, acted and entertaining. "Cold Case" has always made good use of music through out its six seasons. Using the music of Pearl Jam from their landmark debut album "Ten" was another reason why I enjoyed this episode. The final scenes of this episode are yet another reason why this episode worked so well. Very entertaining.moreless

    • Lilly: I'll be ready, sir. Stillman: Good, because you'll be the first female homicide detective in the Philly Police Department. Lilly: I can handle myself. Stillman: I knew that a long time ago.

    • Stillman: Long night. Lilly: Can't piece it together. Stillman: The story. Lilly: What you always told me. Stillman: Ask the right questions 'till the story makes sense. So what's the right question?

    • Stillman: I have a few guys set to retire next couple of years. I could use somebody with your instincts and determination. Lilly: Homicide? Stillman: You interested? Lilly: Of course, sir. Stillman: Well, learn your job at East, do it right. I'll keep an eye out, and we'll talk when the time comes.

    • Kate: (about the other cadets) You said it yourself. They hate me. James: Well, then, let them see the other side of you. The side that I see. Don't just prove to them that you can hack it. Prove to them that you belong.

    • Vera: (to Lilly after the accident) You'd do anything to get out of that bucket of bolts, wouldn't you?

    • The letter that Lilly's father wrote to her: Dear Lilly, There are two sides to every story Neither of which I think you'll find satisfactory Suffice it to say there's no way I could've stayed with your mother and survived In that sense you're already stronger than me I was a lousy father When I got sober enough to figure out how much I missed it was to late to undo the damage Much to my regret I'll always be the dad who bought you a bike But never thought you how to ride it There were a few moments that I tried to reconnect along the way But you were on your own path by then Your own woman And you turned out great, kid I missed so much of your life For that I am sorry Not only to you but for depriving myself all those times you needed a father, somebody to protect you When you showed up that day at the park all these years later My heart jumped out my chest I thought maybe you came to judge me 'til I realized I'm the only parent you've got left Like it or not, you only get one father Just know if there's ever another moment in your life when you need me, I will be there! (revealed only in Closed Captioning) I am so proud of you Lilly
