The show is again a hit due to its acting as well as its writing and like someone said, this has a Twin Peaks thing to it!
Lily and the team try to find out why someone was killed back in 1986 and they use Top Gun references.
How someone who thought that they got away with murder really didn't at all.

it was in it's own ball park but at the end it occured to me that there was a similarity to twin peaks. young girl murdered, team investigates to find out the killer.

this is a classic plot. whoever re-tells this story will surely entertain.

    i liked it, cold case-style, twin peaks-style, any-style.

    • Det. Jeffries refers to Wayne's dad as "Jabba". This is in reference to Jabba the Hutt, a character in the Star Wars movies. Edit
    • Wayne and Carrie were watching the movie 1982 movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High, starring Sean Penn and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Edit
    • This case seems to be at least partially based on the Zodiac Killer attack on Bryan Hartnell and Cecelia Shepard on September 27, 1969. Like in the episode, the couple was alone picnicking by a lake when they were attacked by an unknown assailant. Bryan Hartnell was wounded but not killed while Cecelia Shepard was fatally stabbed. The real Zodiac Killer was never arrested. Edit
