  • Really bothered by Nashville References

I guess I can be a stickler for details, but I was really bothered by the depiction of Nashville. First of all, the panoramic view of Nashville did not seem to be the city at all; the skyline lacked the "Bat Tower", the AT&T Building. And a police chief who allows himself to be called "Big Daddy" seems a stretch. My wife, who has lived in Nashville practically all of her life, never heard of a restaurant called "The Running Pig". There is an excellent Catfish restaurant called Cock of the Walk that I was taken to by her family several years ago.
  • A great episode. Loved they storyline and loved the Lilly and Scotty moments.

This episode was great and I loved it. The Lilly and Scotty moment was sweet and I liked how she opened up to him about nearly getting married. It seemed like Scotty didn't want Lilly to leave and thats why he kept talking to her. The Lone Wolf talk was interesting and the Whate Happens In Nashville Stays In Nashville was hilarious. I liked the storyline line of this episode it had me guessing and it was really sad. Kathryn Morris did a great job on acting as well as Danny Pino. Very good. Great job producers and writers. Keep it up
  • When the gun that killed a man in 2000 is found, Lilly re-opens the case of the murdered country singer.

Truck Sugar was a country singer in "The Sugar Boys". All he wanted to do was become a big country star. Him and his band go to Philadelphia to play show. He ends up getting killed that night, shot dead outside the place he played at.

Eh, country music is just not my thing. That's probably why I didn't really like this episode. Until the end, that it is.

It was just too slow moving. I mean, nothing happened. All of the flashback events took place that night, perhaps that's why there was just nothing going on. There was no action and nothing really emotional. It did show a lot about the guy's personality, but everything was there was just nothing to it.

I kind of see this episode as the writers wanting to make a country episode so they just scrambled this together. Definitely doesn't live up to Cold Case standards.
  • Lovely LS Bit! =D

I never managed to see this whole episode but because I'm a Lilly/Scotty shipper I was so happy to see the small corridor scene!!

It was so cute when Scotty was completely embarassed at being caught with Charlene and they also bonded quite a bit here. I was pleased to see them at least venturing into friendship because I hate when they are arguing although it adds to the obvious tension! =P

Both Kathryn and Danny were very in character but they showed a little of their own personalty too and I really liked that. On top of that, it wasn't all work related. There was a bit of fun there too which I really liked! Overall great, fun and cute episode!
  • This show always makes me cry.

Cold Case has done it again. A good story with a tearjerker ending. A story of the Sugar Boys trying to make it big and Truck Sugar getting shot. The use of the Tim McGraw songs in this episode was genius. I\'m a McGraw fan anyway. The use of \"Drugs or Jesus\" at the moment of truth is what got me started on the tears. It was great when Jefferies gave the box to the guy who got them onto this case. You can judge someone and not really know what is going on in their lives. I love this show.
  • Lilly and Scotty go to Tennessee

The storyline was heavy situtated on Lilly and Scotty. It was great to see them getting along so well outside of philly. Both of them realized how much they are alike in many ways and that Lilly isn\\\\\\\'t the only one is is feeling all alone. It\\\\\\\'s sad how Truck wanted to be his own person and in the end met his death.
  • Clever and entertaining storyline, but did not care for the negative connotations towards Southerners.

While I thought the storyline was clever and entertaining, being from Tennessee I was distracted by the overdone Southern-redneck cast portrayals. Cant somebody make a show set in the South that is more realistic?!? And have the writers actually listened to any TN radio? In Nashville and Knoxville there are more rock stations than country! There may be a few Truck Sugar -types around here, but the vast majority of us are not, so I really wish the entertainment industry would stop making it seem that way.
  • Worth changing the channel...

I have been watching Cold Case since the show began and, frankly, this was one of the worst episodes I have seen. The show had begun with what seemed to be a promising storyline, but as the episode progressed, it eventually became very boring. This episode lacked strong characters to aid the decent storyline.
  • Cold Case goes country yall

The story was interesting. Could have done without Scotty being a male slut. I liked how they had the two teams split up interviewing everyone. Felt bad for Will's old partner and then again I didn't. He was a lazy old guy not realizing he should have changed jobs a long time ago. This was definitely better than last week's episode.
  • Enjoyable episode. Kept me guessing to the conclusion.

Well done. This was a great example of why Cold Case has attracted a huge following: the show appeals to everyone. I enjoy the music as much as the plot. I am not a country music fan, but in this episode Tim McGraw\'s songs were used nicely to backdrop the story. The Sugar Boys were a small band that travelled to Philadelphia to play in a little bar. The opening scene were you see a dead Truck Sugar laying in front of the bar left me wondering how the case could go cold when the killing occured on a big street. Then the writers tell you why; Jeffries\' former partner didn\'t do a very good job of gathering info and only did 2 interviews. Good plot that keeps you interested all the to the end, when the killer is revealed. I got the feeling that it could only be one of two people; Dusty, because of his drug habit or Ty, out of jealousy. A good side story was Scotty hooking up with the lady cop in Tennessee and Lily catching him putting his clothes back on. Lastly, if you taped the show, watch the beginning where Jeffries is getting the case box. You see a radio and the voice on it is talking about the presidential election re-count from 2000.
  • Great show and in Knoxville where I live!

First of all, I am glad that the team went

Out of Philadelphia for once and also that is where

I am from or live next to is Knoxville TN as

An up and coming country artist is murdered and Det Jeffries

Former partner and friend comes up with new evidence suggesting that the artist owed a lot of peole and had gone to pawn shops to get cash over a habit of his. I love this show and great to see Lily & Scotty on a professional basis once again.
  • In 2000, an up an comming country star was murdered out side of a club he had just played.

I really thought I was going to make it... I didn\'t. If you\'ve read any of my other episode reviews then you know what my problem was. I havn\'t seen an episode of Cold Case in a few weeks and it feels like I\'ve never left. The plot line overall was a good one; a texas star is killed in the big city. The only problem I had with the episode was the recent interview with the club owner\'s former lady friend. I do realize their point in the story\'s arc, but I don\'t think I ever found out why that lady was in prison and all that she really had to do with the story... anyhow I really liked this episode and the Tim McGraw music was a nice touch.
  • A trip down South leads to some nice character moments amid an intriguing case.

I liked the overall central mystery of the show with the two brothers and their problems back then. As a country music fan from Chicago, I also liked how they showcased the way country can be seen differently in different areas. The realtionship between the brothers was very well done, particularly when the older tells the younger to just follow his dreams. "I knew this was coming." "I didn't." It was very real and made the entire case resonate. That last scene of the living brother playing in a small club but still happy was a nice coda. I also liked the bits where that former country star turned pop starlet tries to tempt him over. Having her be involved in the shooting was a surprise but I liked her expression as she was fingerprinted, as if realizing this may be some sort of karmaic payback.

Of course, the best parts of the ep where LIlly and Scotty in Nashville. I loved their reactions to the much more laid back police station and "Big Daddy." Seeing Scotty with that one cop was an unexpected pleasure and it led to the nice conversation about whether cops can truly be happy, a nice introspective moment. So a great episode overall and there were good touches like Jeffries so down on his partner until he learned about the man's wife and thus felt guilty over it. Probably the best episode of the season so far, which bodes well for the rest of the year.
