Neil: It wasn't me. I killed that other girl, but not Rita.
Det. Valens: Well who did?
Neil: It was the house. It's an evil house.
Mr. Beaudry: How many girls were here?
Rita: Hmm... just one. Just me.
Mr. Beaudry: So you're a liar too, Rita? Brandi, you want to tell your friend what we do to liars in this house?
Det. Vera: She'd shriek like a banshee.
In Gaelic folklore, a banshee is a female ghost, with long, white hair and dressed in white. Hearing a banshee's wail is a prediction that there will be a death in the family. The scream is supposedly bloodcurdling, hence the expression "shriek like a banshee".
