Clayton Hathaway died on a Sunday in the summer of 1987.
Paula Malcomson and Jennifer Lawrence who plays mother and daughter in this episode also play mother and daughter in the 2012 movie "Hunger Games".
Marlene Bradford died on November 17, 1999. This was also her daughter Abby's tenth birthday.
Nitpick: In the episode, Marlene is seen collecting drink cans from a trash bin and saying that they "hit the jackpot". However, collecting cans is probably not the best way to make extra money since Pennsylvania does not have a can/bottle deposit law.
Maurice Hall was killed in October 1984.
Goof: Although The Supremes' song Where Did Our Love Go, which the girls are singing along to in May 1964, was recorded on April 8, it wasn't released as a single until June 17 and later, on August 31, as an album.
Incorrectly Regarded as a Goof: In the scene where Hilary is holding her baby after just giving birth, Sister Margaret is seen wearing a golden ring. This is not a wedding band, as some have suggested. Catholic nuns often wear a golden ring that signifies their symbolic marriage to Jesus.
We learn that when Lilly was six years old, her mother purposefully lost her in the mall to get some booze.
Hilary West was killed in May 1964.
Det. Vera had an uncle who served two tours during the Vietnam War.
Goof: Thom Barry (Det. Will Jeffries) doesn't have his usual mustache during most of the episode. In his final scene at the McBride house, it's suddenly back.
The fatal explosion happened on the night of June 7, 1981.
Goof: At the end of the episode when the students are gathering around Madison's body after she's killed, if you look closely, you can see Madison blink her eyes right before the shot dissolves.
Madison Reed and Skill Jones died on January 28, 2002.
Kat was working undercover in narcotics and she was the one who found Skill Jones. She also sees the victims' "ghosts" at the end.
Goof: At the end when Rush sees the victim's "ghost", after the figure fades there remains a reflection on the water where the victim stood.
Goof: The title card in the beginning of the episode reads "January 14, 1996". However, the blackout occurred on the 11th, and Lauren's body was found in the morning of the 12th. The police report is also dated January 12.
Lauren Williams died on January 11, 1996.
The Hoffman house exterior is the same house exterior (except repainted) where Sam & Darrin Stephens lived in the 1960s show Bewitched.
The missing person notice for James reads:
Last seen Feb. 19, 2006
Last seen wearing:
Gray jacket, gray hoodie, brown t-shirt, indigo jeans.
If seen PLEASE CALL
(the number is cut off)
Additionally, James' student ID card that Lt. Stillman is holding gives what is presumably his student ID number: 281991.
