Mickey and Ali investigate an American serial killer who claims to have murdered two girls in British Columbia, believing the man is just trying to escape the death penalty. Kyle Bradley identifies one girl as his sister after shown the teddy bear pendant found by her body.moreless

The police are informed that a man in prison who has served 2 years of an 8 year sentence is willing to give them tips to help identify a sexual predator who killed two young girls.

The dilemma that ensues is whether to free him early in a deal to get the information and subsequent testimony in trial, or to set him serve out his sentence - and keep the killer on the streets.

The episode goes into the mechanisms that police have to work with when trying to solve a hideous crime. But the real story is about the tragedy heaped on two families by a horrible act, causing them to buckle under the strain. And also about the fact that the man who did it did not care.
