I signed up through the web site. Yet, my question of how to be on the show was not answered. I have been smoking for 16 yrs. Today, as I write this. It is my 31st birthday. I have said to myself that I would quit, not only by my last birthday, but by this birthday. I just feel like a total looser with not being able to control my hands! If I could control my hands, I wouldn't have a problem to begin with. Yet, I get irritated because if there was this much publicity reguarding cocaine, crack or crystal meth. Would we be considered differently? Maybe accepted?
I see all the phillip morris ads and although they make me feel ashamed and guilty. I honestly feel pleasure form smoking. I wish they had SOLUTIONS to the idea within their ads. I.E. promote volleyball, skateboarding, tennis, acting, church activities, a one way ticket to be on Cast Away, etc. Yes, you can quit on your own, again. IF YOU HAVE SIMPLE SELF CONTROL.
Many counselors have told me this is an addiction like any other. There are psycological issues you've yet to deal with. Yet, were treated as outcasts with no one really caring.
I guess, I'm just venting because I'm not sure if this is going to reach the show or not.
I would LOVE to do this show. There is nothing in my life that I would like more than being FREE of this addiction and having others with support to see through the journey.
Thanks for letting me vent.
All the best!
